Fully agree that the original rules should stick but in reality some counties carry more weight.
Wexford are a big draw and can add 20,000 or 30,000 to the typical attendance for a Leinster final. That could be up to a million quid in extra revenue for the Leinster council on just one matchday.
They would be accommodated by a committee room stroke much quicker than Offaly would.

Hopefully we should have a good crowd for Saturday

I have this sneaking suspicion of extra time will be needed as it's going to be close one

There wasn't 20k at the Leinster minor final last year, but there was an exceptional crowd all the same.

Historically no, Offaly rarely bring big support and Offaly people are fickle about when they show up.
I can remember the All Ireland semi finals of '98, '99 and '00 where only a sprinkling of Offaly people travelled. Because there was a feeling that Offaly wouldn't be competitive enough, so people stayed away.

Wexford are big office when they're going well.

Look, I see alot here on about "sticking to rules" and possibly Wexford go down..while I agree I have to say it again, Leinster while the standard had dropped was opened up as some sort of arcade almost where anyone could get in and play in our province, yes, Munster with their 5 competitive teams were left alone, that is not fair regardless of the standard, to think there are no All Ireland semi finals at U20 because of the current set up in Leinster says it all. Munster competitive or not should have had to shoulder some of the responsibility of saving hurling (yes even it was Leinster that was failing) Imagine if Tipp or Cork were in similar position next weekend by finishing bottom of a group and being relegated, CP would not allow that to happen. Wexford are where they are, back in the 1980s was dominated by Cork from 1982 to 1987, with Waterford and Limerick and Clare getting knocked out easily mainly year on year, Tipp came out of their "famine" in 1987 and bucked the Cork trend. I know there was no back doors or round robins back then but it came close to something needing to be done with Waterford being massacred by Cork in the finals of 82 and 83 to a lesser extent. Gone off the point abit with reference to how Munster was poor enough for the majority of the 80s but yet that was the way it was, no one went into "fix it" by bringing in outside counties. Finally, the rules are as they are for this year and not sure when they can change, but for example, Kerry if they won a JMCD say next year, they should be in Munster and not Leinster, Leinster is entitled to its "independence" if you like same as Munster. Dont come on and ask me "what would you do so" I have said it, bringing in outside counties, and winners of JMD has to be fair accross the board and not just use Leinster as facility to accomodate them. Its grand now Offaly (or Carlow) have a great chance of going up this weekend back into Leinster, but if Kerry or Down for example were in the JMCD final, and Wexford get relegated, that is another Leinster team gone out of next years Leinster championship and replaced by a non Leinster team, Munster have to feel some of the change whether its competitive or not, Leinster is being treated poorly if you ask me, only my view, no need to devour..hopefully Offaly can get the job done this weekend.

Thought if Kerry won they would go into Munster. Nuts if Kerry too come into Leinster in the chance they win the JMD. That would be annoying beyond measure.

If kerry were to win joe mcdonagh, they would play bottom team in munster in a playoff.

You can't change the goalposts after the match has started. Its no different to when we were relegated.

Kerry go straight into the Munster Hurling Championship should they ever win the Joe McDonagh Cup.

The absolute state of the tactics they employed against Offaly 3 weeks ago and by all accounts they were worse against Laois last day out.

My mistake, didn't realise the rule was changed this year.

When Leinster Senior hurling final attendances are ranked by size, the top 16 all involve Wexford. Only five Leinster hurling final attendances have exceeded 50,000 - 1956, '57 and 1997, all when Wexford were reigning All-Ireland champions, 2017 after they beat Kilkenny in a Wexford Park semi-final, and 2019 (probably due to Davymania).
2018's Leinster final (Galway v Kilkenny, when Galway were All-Ireland champions and 40,703 attended) is the only non-Wexford Leinster final to attract more than 40k.
The Offaly fixture quoted is from a sample size of one.

We are consistently told that Dublin are allocated the Croke Park dressing rooms closest to the Railway End and warm up at the Railway End on the basis of alphabetical order - unless Árd Mhacha, An Clár or An Cábhan are the opposition, the three names that trump Áth Cliath alphabetically.

If that basis holds, Offaly will always warm up at the Canal End as no county comes below Uíbh Fhailí alphabetically. No other county's name as Gaeilge begins with U and none begin with V, W, X, Y or Z.
