All I said was they wouldn't win the semi final who ever they played and guess what they didn't.

Re: Offaly Senior A Hurling Championship 2023
I thought Shinrone would win the final, but the fact KK have not won a title since 2017?, could motivate them to get over the line. We just have to wait for the final to see how things pan out. Should be a good day, Birr are putting in a big effort on presentation for the day.Anonymous1 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 03, 2023 4:28 am Agree with what was said above, the two best teams are into the final and there’s very little to separate them.
I think the weather will have more than a major bearing on who comes out on top and will actually decide the destiny of the Sean Robbins.
If there’s been a week of rain and the ground is heavy then I think that plays into Shinrone’s hands particularly in SBP. However, if it’s a relatively dry week and the pitch is in good shape then I’d fancy KK to get over the line.
It would take something very special indeed for KK to beat Shinrone on heavy ground or Shinrone to beat KK on firm ground.
On the championship as a whole, it looks very much like KK, Shinrone and Ballinamere will be battling for titles over the next number of years while perennial contenders like Rynaghs, Belmont and Coolderry are going to fall away.

Looking forward to it, just looking forward to a big crowd and a good game. Badly needed.
And a few scoops in Birr, been too long

Do we have any idea what the attendance was last year of paid tickets ?
Heard the figure 4,000 would that be roughly correct?

Attendance reported in the media was 5,793, and the receipts reported in the Board's Annual Report published at Convention was €59,327.

2022 attendance was just over 5,100. This figure was announced at the game. (That media figure quoted by POTH is incorrect figure given by the media).Plain of the Herbs wrote: ↑Tue Oct 03, 2023 6:38 pm Attendance reported in the media was 5,793, and the receipts reported in the Board's Annual Report published at Convention was €59,327.greenairfield wrote: ↑Tue Oct 03, 2023 6:19 pm Do we have any idea what the attendance was last year of paid tickets ?

2021 attendance was just over 2,900.
I'd estimate a crowd of 6 to 7 thousand people to attend this year's final.
In fairness to Birr they are pulling out all the stops and it promises to be a great weekend. The county final should really be an event rather than just the match. It had become stale in OCP. I found it appalling that there wasn't even a pre match parade last year. I'd expect a great buzz around the town for the weekend and Sunday could be a bumper day at the tills for the publicans on Connacht St.
Edit - Does anyone know what time throw in is?

I'm going to drink 45 pints in about two hours. Then I'd have a packet of crisps or peanuts and I'd have 10 more anyway
I'd get up the following morning and Maureen would have the fry on and I'll go at it again..
I'd take the shirt off any man's back
Bas***ds

Official figure announced at the final in 2022 was 5,793. I've it scribbled on last years final program.frankthetank wrote: ↑Tue Oct 03, 2023 9:01 pm

Not sure why lads are trying to claim there were less there than that. The figure is what it is.

Re: Offaly Senior A Hurling Championship 2023
If I'm mistaken I accept that but I am convinced an attendance of just over 5,100 was announced.
Either figure will be beaten on Sunday week anyways and the 2021 figure will be obliterated.
