Football & Hurling Development

Post by jimbob17 »

There was a lot of work done in taking in views of football people with view towards development at start of new County board regime. Likes of Paul O Kelly was involved with plenty of meetings etc. Has much come out of this?

I know games programme has improved and new GPO's are in place but in terms of rest, has much changed? Not for second saying it hasn't but just interested to know what is different.

Would have liked to see a junior/inter team entered in Leinster competition - and fill it with u23 players with senior potential. Lots of the u20s are good bit off inter county senior still and doing this and tying in with senior for S&C etc would really help to fill that gap and really help seniors going forward. I believe Kildare have been fairly proactive on this front and use it as development panel for county senior squad.

Be interested to hear if there is any other steps taken in either Hurling or football that have come in off these development review meetings.

Big fan of that junior/inter team idea.

Give us a feel for what talent is out there bubbling below the surface.
