Think Kelly could be a good appointment but not fully sure that it makes sense in a way. It appeared that Fennelly wanted to return for next year given he was attending club games until very recently. In this sense it appears that it was the co board that decided to go for change. If this is the case and it seems to be, it is somewhat contradictory and unusual that after deciding that they needed change from last year, that they would then look to move for the coach of that particular set-up as manager.

On the other hand, and hopefully this is the case, it may be likely that the players wanted Kelly to be kept on and given his experience and success elsewhere, and the connection between player group and co board, the board were happy to listen to and facilitate the players opinions.

Either way, I think element of continuity is good as there seemed to be very few disaffected players over last couple of years in comparison to previous regimes.

It's hard to know what went on. Fennelly was in ballinamere yesterday doing coaching with kids. I doubt he'd be doing that if offaly and fennelly departed on bad terms. Maybe he was staying on and then he was asked to go in with kk on their mgt ticket . Again, I don't know.
