Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024

Can't comment on the first half as I was at a funeral Second half I think the corpse could have Got a game . Very disjointed team in my book Westmeath clinical as usual even without there talisman. Going to be a long division 3 Belfast next week at least the pints are cheap Onwards and upwards 👍🤗 I...

Re: Parish Rule

Following on from Luke Watkins’ controversial transfer from Ballyskenagh/Killavilla to Shinrone the Carney twins are now looking to follow the same path. If you were a member of Ballyskenagh/Killavilla you’d have to fairly disillusioned with all this. https://www.offalyexpress.ie/news/gaa/1403598/t...

Re: Offaly Minor Football and Hurling 2023

Charlie Mitchell went well tonight for NUIG. Are we a bit light this year with sigerson/fitzgibbon involvement in comparison to recent years? Cathal King started at corner back for SETU Waterford last night against DCU. Sam Bourke was listed at wing-back for DCU and scored 4 points from play (perha...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024

And yet Westmeath beat Wexford in a game of consequence last year.

We certainly aren't on those teams level at the moment but we will be with time.

Re: Offaly Minor Football and Hurling 2023

Banagher College into the Senior B schools semi finals after a 20-point win over Ardscoil Rís of Clontarf. They have now set up a semi final with Birr. Birr must be fancied to win this out, having earlier beat Banagher by 12 points. Unlucky draw with the 2 Offaly schools facing off and Heywood and N...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024

Promoted: Down & Offaly

Relegated: WIcklow and Sligo

Limerick and Clare are both down a good few lads but I can't see them being as bad as many are predicting.

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024

Is Keith O’Neill involved with the seniors this year?
Really fast and exciting player.

Scored 1-1 for Maynooth last night.
Aaron Brazil and one of the Plunkett brothers also playing in a win over MTU Cork.

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024

Kilkenny whacked Carlow tonight, Offaly would probably have gone toe to toe with Carlow and maybe sneak a win..the gulf is massive and i fear its too big to close now..just my obs.. Offaly have been well ahead of the likes of Carlow, Westmeath, Antrim etc since 2018-2019 at u20 and minor. We have a...

Was going to ask the same.
I’d imagine they were always going to struggle with Screeney, Mahon, the 3 Kavanaghs and a few more doing the Leaving Cert last year.

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024

Galway’s superior short stick work between the half back and half forward line was evident to see today, coupled with physicality and pace. Offaly’s best passages of play came when releasing the ball into the 3 red helmets (almost impossible to tell apart today) of Kelly, Mitchell and Cahill. Donal ...

Photo on the fundraising Twitter page for little Joey Conway shows Kiely togged out with the team before today’s game.

I’d expect he is undergoing some form or rehab or conditioning

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024

Delighted to not have placed that bet now.

Great first half.

Took foot off pedal in second half.

Kickouts need to be worked on.

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024

Offaly were 2/1 yesterday evening with Paddy Power before teams were named. Once I seen the Dublin team I planned a trip into town this morning for a wager on our lads. Checked again later on and we are now 8/15, no bet there. Supposedly, the actual Dublin panel has a challenge match against Armagh ...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024

Good competitive game last night. Laois with almost a full panel available and looked very determined to avenge what they viewed as an injustice of Offaly losing the last JMcD group game to cost them a final spot. Game seemed to pass some of the Offaly youngsters by. Seen very little of Cleary, Luke...
