Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2023

Hard luck to Offaly. Huge effort and character shown today. It's annoying to read know alls running the team and management down after such an agonising defeat. Well done to Carlow. They were much more economical in converting scoring chances and dominated in the air. But they also benefited from a ...

Re: U20 hurlers 23

We Shot our selves in the foot with this one. Instead of having about 20,000 Offaly fans in croke park next weekend roaring on our seniors,They'll be lucky to get 2000 up there. Croke park will be a disaster for that game now, they’ll be no atmosphere an glorified challenge game is what it will tur...

Re: U20 hurlers 23

Any advantage gained in terms of additional time to prepare for the game and allowing Charlie Mitchell to play in both finals is more than nullified by the fact that there will be a much bigger Cork support and the inclusion of Eoin Downey in the Cork line-up. But a much greater issue is that guys a...

Re: U20 hurlers 23

Very unfair on lads doing leaving. Can't enjoy victory after or get over defeat. Player welfare obviously not being considered. Leaving cert most important exam these lads will do. I totally agree. Surely the Offaly county board won't accept this? While it gives the team an extra week to prepare fo...

Re: NFL Div 3 predictions 2023

Disappointing result today. Cavan are really a Division 2 team and today showed them to be further down the road than Offaly. While we stayed with them for half an hour, even at that stage the writing was on the wall as Cavan were getting their scores more easily. At times in the first half Offaly w...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2023

I'm disappointed to see so many negative posts here. These guys deserve our support and from what I see they are proud to represent their county. It would be different if players and/or management were not putting in the effort. Besides, there are several good hurlers on that team. Where are all the...

Re: KEVIN KILMURRAY R.I.P.

Around the early seventies a catchphrase of a local character in the Ferbane area was "Go for it Kilmurray"! It neatly captured the adventurous drive and determination which Kevin Kilmurray brought to the game. He epitomised the spirit of that great Offaly team of 69 to 73, a team that was...

Re: League & Championship hurling 2022

Good win for Belmont this evening though Shinrone were very poor. Belmont once more are one game away from that elusive county final. Great to see Oisin back. He got a tremendous reception from the crowd when introduced in the second half.

Re: Minors hurlers 2022

This is what is so infuriating about the GAA rules. Why is it less serious to illegally deny a goalscoring opportunity at underage level? I agree that it's time to move on and build on what we achieved this year. Scapegoating the referee, while understandable in the cruel circumstances of the defeat...
