Re: U20 hurlers 23
During a break in play around about the 20th minute, there was a random roar from the crowd. I can only assume it was for an attack on Screeney – he had about 20,000 minders in the crowd. Cormac Egan was down injured in that incident, waiting to get attention when one of the Cork backs came over an...

Re: U20 hurlers 23
If 18 or 19 year olds are good enough to start and play for Galway, Kilkenny, Cork, Clare etc, then surely our most talented bunch in decades should be playing Senior too.. in a small county we must make the most of our resources.. I expect there will be some sort of a change to the 7 day rule next ...

Re: U20 hurlers 23
Hopefully there will be a good crowd for the tipp Game make the games at a reasonable time and a fair price you will get bum's on seat's. But late Saturday evening games especially in Dublin Are a nightmare expense and it's not very nice place To be of in honest .. The match is in Tullamore, not Du...

Offaly Camogie & LGFA
Does anyone have any insight to what is going on with our 2 ladies teams these days? Seem to be gone significantly backwards in the last 5-10 years. Lots of the top players not involved and no underage success of any degree. A demolition of the camogie team today by Waterford, the sort of which seem...

Re: U20 hurlers 23
Isn’t it great to go into a game like this as massive underdogs. Hopefully the lads don’t feel under too much pressure, they have already exceeded expectations for the year and hopefully this allows them to relax and express themselves on Sunday, because they are a wonderfully talented bunch. By the...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2023
Stephen Corcoran: Had a few good saves, including a great diving one early on, ballooned a free wide but short puckouts were on the ball all day, bar one in extra time to Killian Sampson (not quite sure if ball was too long or miscontrolled). Perhaps should have been stronger for the first goal. Ben...

Re: Offaly Minor Football and Hurling 2023
Fair play Plain of the Herbs, plenty of uninformed and blatantly outrageous comments go unchallenged on here by lads with their own agendas trying to belittle the great work our county sides are doing. It’s amazing how they are able to come out AFTER the minor footballers (and same for the hurlers) ...

Re: U20 hurlers 23
I would think closer to 30,000 would be expected in Thurles next Sunday. We’ll bring around 15k, Cork could bring up to 10k and Galway and Clare could bring 5k each. The Ardan O Riain stand was sold out early on Wednesday. Offaly will bring in excess of 15k, maybe 20k.. there was more than that fro...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2023
The Wexford GAA forum (I think it’s under the Hogan Stand page of forums) really is something to behold today. I would laugh but it’s the exact same boat Offaly found themselves in 5-10 years ago. A general surmise of the posts is that: Underage set-up is all wrong, management needs to go, players n...

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2023
That was a very poor loais team but was very disappointed with the crowd game should have been played earlier . Great comeback but I think the team has had enough this year . 4 months of football and Liam's death has to take its toll On a very small squad of players . Hard to no what to expect agai...

Re: U20 hurlers 23
For me it's not really about the games being moved I'm more concerned that there's an attitude that offaly are in trouble without Mitchell and don't get me wrong he's brilliant but surely we have another player that can do a job maybe not as good sure but why is the narrative all about missing Mitc...

Re: U20 hurlers 23
I feel the same people who are giving out about the games being separated would be the first to moan if they were on together with Mitchell and the 2 managements facing a dilemma. If the fixture had been left where it was, we could have looked rightly stupid with Mitchell not playing in one of the g...

Re: U20 hurlers 23
Rule is for a rolling 7 day period - Day 1 morning until Day 7 night. So in this case, Sunday morning until the next Saturday night. So we should hope the game is Saturday 3rd? Makes most sense with Leaving Cert the following Wednesday Cork would be too cute to allow that happen. Anyway seems like ...

Re: U20 hurlers 23
Looks like the U20 final is being moved back a week. Pity, as it plays into Cork's hands. They get Eoin Downey back and it probably gets played in a more preferable venue for them. Everyone is saying Downey will be back but will he actually? Cork are playing the Sunday beforehand, with the 7 day ru...
