Re: Offaly Minor Football and Hurling 2023
Terrible hammering last night in the Minor Hurling Championship on the website .Not good for either teams but especially losing side , these lads are only 15/16 is there a need for them to be put up against severly stronger opposition . Should they be graded early on and into A,B,C instead of the gr...

Re: Junior A Hurling Championship 2023
I take it that Carrig and Riverstown are now relegated because they have pulled out. From the little I know of this grade in previous years this championship will be fought out for by brosna gaels , ballinamere, clodagh gaels and kinnity . With K/K, ballyskenagh killavilla , coolderry and tullamore ...

Re: Offaly Senior A Hurling Championship 2023
Frankthetank is right. It wouldn't be unusual for Lusmagh to use just 17 or 18 of 19 Senior players in a year. I notice most Senior A clubs used three subs last Friday evening. Lusmagh used none. The old system where seven players were regraded suited the smaller clubs better. I could be wrong, but...

Re: Offaly Senior A Hurling Championship 2023
But in order to regrade a player must take a year out am I missing something?greenairfield wrote: ↑Tue Jul 11, 2023 8:50 am There is no other way around it. Most clubs can have issues doing it people going travelling retirements all come into play.
It's up to the clubs to figure out how they do it.

Re: Offaly Senior A Hurling Championship 2023
Can somebody on here provide clarification on the rule in which clubs must provide a list of 18 players from the previous years team to play for this year's team . Does this potentially freeze players out of a year's hurling because new players coming out of underage or via transfer are now availab...

Re: Offaly Senior A Hurling Championship 2023
Great work over the 3 championships really good posts all of them. As far as kk are concerned it is hard to not see them having second teams that could challenge in the senior A grade in years to come . Quality players coming through every year or a few years now . But these lads are still only teen...

Re: Offaly Minor Football and Hurling 2023
POTH and LoneShark make good points especially about young players immaturity fragileness and the online remarks that may effect them . However questions must be asked parental involvement at intercounty grade should be avoided. I don't know if this mattered for the minor team this year but I do kno...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2023
Absolutely Sickening Extremely hard luck to the lads who kept on going no matter how the game was going. thought we had it but in fairness to carlow they show character to finish with the last 2 with time virtually up. As mentioned above the wides killed us especially in the first half when they wer...

Re: U20 hurlers 23
Thoughts on Joe Hoctor being dropped obviously a forward line stacked with talent but I have been very impressed with him throughout . Personally I think he adds more than Egan and Egans pace to follow off the bench. I can imagine mgt. having headaches which is great for Offaly hurling in general an...
