Re: Offaly Senior A Hurling Championship 2023
KK are going to win the championship without ever having to leave third gear. Of great concern is the dominance of the Senior B championship by ‘second’ teams. Makes a mockery of the championship. There is a strong argument for a one group, 8 team (down from 10 currently) senior championship with th...

Re: U20 hurlers 23
I’m with the county board on this one. There has to be some sort of order and consistency on the extremely complicated and congested fixture list.
Fixtures being postponed for graduations, weddings, holidays, threshing festivals etc etc is not tenable.

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2023
Its not my view, its a fact that you cannot keep a player in or forbid a player from leaving a county squad. No you can’t. But that’s not the point the poster is making. Read their post carefully. They are instead suggesting that there be a ban on transfers to the US until the player’s intercounty ...

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2023
I'm still here in OCP and it's a strange paradox - I've never seen an Offaly performance that was so lethargic, and yet been so sympathetic to the players afterwards. Simply put, these lads just ran through too many big emotional and physical hurdles all year, and trying to get up for the Tailteann...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2023
Carlow have had a fair degree of success against Offaly in recent years and will come to Croke Park quietly confident. It started in 2005 in the league when they beat Offaly in the league, 3-12 to 1-13. The usual shouts of 'new low' and 'rock bottom' rang out. When the sides met again in the league...

Well done to the footballers today and good to open the campaign with a win.
Up next is Laois in six days time in Portlaoise.

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2023
I will never understand the resistance to a tiered intercounty football championship when: 1: Every adult club championship in every single county is tiered into Senior, Intermediate etc. 2: The league format is tiered and is extremely compelling. 3. The hurling intercounty championship is tiered an...

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2023
I can't believe our county chairman wasn't at the game today but instead was co-commentator on the hurling game in Nowlan Park. I don't think that's acceptable at all. I'm sure that Micheal would have preferred to be in croke park as well but he must be under contract with rte to do certain games. ...

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2023
Well done and tough luck to the players today on an incredible effort. You did us proud. Louth are just that bit further along the road. Keep at it and your time will come. We can all see the potential is there. Louths own example is instructive, they were in Division 4 just two years ago. Overall, ...

Congratulations to all the players and a sincere thanks for all your efforts so far this year.
Regardless of results you always represent us with pride and all genuine supporters appreciate that.
Best of luck against Laois and make sure to enjoy it, this is why you train.

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2022
That would be me that researched the old lineouts back as far as I could go. Another fella looks after the technical side of things because I know nothing about computers. Bit like, I’m driving a car for over 30 years and I don’t know how that works either! I’ve been thinking about the Tailteann Cu...
