Offaly Intermediate Club Hurling Championship 2023
The further down the grades you go, the less information available to make a preview. Please let me know of any inaccuracies or anything to add. It can be hard also to know who may line out with second teams and who will play 2 grades up. Group 1 St Rynaghs First Round: Coolderry Star Players: Eoin ...

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2023
I do agree with the huge step in development but The problem I always see is the step up from 60 to 70 minutes which is going to suite the more natural stronger person . Gaa must be the only sport in the world were you play A shorter duration game at 19 and then be expected to step up . It's actual...

Re: Offaly Senior A Hurling Championship 2023
Good post - just a few questions: 1. Have any teams players going in J1 who might miss some group games? Seem to recall few rynaghs players going last year. 2. Who are the 4/5 shinrone players missing from last year? 3. What age is Dan Currams now? All in all i think it will be a very competitive c...

Re: Offaly Senior B Hurling Championship 2023
Group of 6 as per previous years with 4 progressing to semis. Always a very competitive championship, with the added dynamic of the 2 second teams. Kilcormac-Killoughey 1st round: Lusmagh Star Players: Shane Guinan, Karl Guinan, Conor Quinn, whichever of the u20s play One to watch: Dylan Hand No be...

Offaly Senior A Hurling Championship 2023
With the Intercounty now concluded and club due to begin in a matter of weeks, I thought I would do a preview of the championships, starting with Senior A. Exact same groups as last year with Tullamore replacing CG. I have no idea of managers or absentees/returns for most clubs, so do let me know. S...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2023
Hi men. So we both came to an end yesterday and I suppose it was more or less expected. We gave the dubs a good game but you could see the difference in things when push came to shove. While having another incentive for the Joe mc finalists like these prelim q finals sounds great, most likely it's ...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2023
I think the u20s took the reality from a lot of people. We are a long way off the pace, laois, Westmeath get a hammering most of the time the last few years and we are about their level give or take. We are a Joe Mcdonagh team and deserve to be their. We are going in the right direction and it’s ge...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2023
Dooley been an outstanding servant, sad to not see him on panel til conclusion of campaign but wish him all the best if it is the end. Keenaghan always getting minutes but was quite poor against Carlow, being taken off twice can’t be nice for anyone. Eoghan Cahill spent a few days prior to the Carlo...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2023
Strong tipp team named, Craig Morgan back for the first time in 9 months. 6 forwards are very strong. No offaly team named yet. At least 3 players have left the panel. Who has left the panel? 5 names missing from last day. Dara Maher - suspended David Nally - broken wrist Dooley and Keenaghan - lef...

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2023
We were going nowhere with Maughan either and he had turned most of the players against himself.

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2023
I don’t say this lightly, but this is the worst ever performance I’ve seen by an Offaly football team.

Re: U20 hurlers 23
During a break in play around about the 20th minute, there was a random roar from the crowd. I can only assume it was for an attack on Screeney – he had about 20,000 minders in the crowd. Cormac Egan was down injured in that incident, waiting to get attention when one of the Cork backs came over an...

Re: U20 hurlers 23
If 18 or 19 year olds are good enough to start and play for Galway, Kilkenny, Cork, Clare etc, then surely our most talented bunch in decades should be playing Senior too.. in a small county we must make the most of our resources.. I expect there will be some sort of a change to the 7 day rule next ...

Re: U20 hurlers 23
Hopefully there will be a good crowd for the tipp Game make the games at a reasonable time and a fair price you will get bum's on seat's. But late Saturday evening games especially in Dublin Are a nightmare expense and it's not very nice place To be of in honest .. The match is in Tullamore, not Du...
