Re: National Foothall league Div 2 predictions
we would all say no in the main, yet the u21 team of 1988 did deliver the spine of the 1997-2000 team, we won a Leinster and a league out of nowhere as we thought... Some very good points there but the 1988 Under 21 team didn't deliver very many of the 1997-2000 team. As far as I can recall Tom Cof...

Re: Offaly Senior Football Championship 2021
Crazy decision. It was a dangerous tackle and merited a red card.

Re: Video vault - the 1980s
Thanks for sharing, BNM Man. I just watched back the 1986 Minor Hurling Final. What a second half! Some great performances by guys who didn't become senior intercounty stars -Peter Nallen, John Kilmartin, Damien Geoghegan and Ronnie Byrne. Gary Cahill was superb. Bit annoying that the commentator fo...

Re: Offaly u20 2021
From looking at an Offaly minor selection of two years ago Fionn Dempsey, Lee Pearson and Morgan Tynan as well as Cormac Delaney and Darragh Flynn, who were on the subs bench on Sunday, are eligible next year. And of course you have the four lads who were minor last year - John Furlong, Tom Hyland, ...

Re: Offaly vs Louth 2021 Leinster Football Championship
A gritty performance by Offaly. The guys stood up in the heat of battle. The crazy decision to play a league final last weekend nearly cost us and it will make things very difficult next weekend, after having to play extra time and being out four weekends in a row. Still there is a lot to be proud ...

Re: Offaly v Fermanagh
I totally agree, Bracknaghboy. It takes our focus away from preparing for a crucial championship match. If we lose it dents confidence. Even if we win it will leave players that bit more tired playing three weekends in a row. And as you say it gives Mickey Harte an extra opportunity to analyse us. T...

Re: Offaly v Fermanagh
Great to be promoted. Well done to team and management. We made heavy work of it in the second half. We are not comfortable when teams run at us. A lot to work on ahead of the Louth game. But it's great to be winning matches.

Re: Offaly Hurling 2021
Tremendous win for Offaly. There is huge potential in this side and it's great to see them playing as a team and with such a determined attitude. A very positive thing is it looks like Offaly have found the key men to fill the spine of the defence in Ciaran Burke and Ben Conneely, a vital asset to a...

Re: Maughan & O' Malley / Dunne & Maher
That would be a fair point if there was football being played, or even panel training taking place. As GAA supporters we are entitled to question a policy that prevents playing of amateur games and denies young people the opportunity to engage in healthy activity. Last year Offaly minor hurlers and ...

Rover, the eradication of smallpox, as in the treatment of any disease, involved a complex set of measures. In this case it included increased hygiene, sanitation, isolation of infected persons and vaccination. It must be remembered that smallpox had a fatality rate of 30%. Vaccines were only given ...

I DONT BELIEVE THE VACCINE WILL HAVE NEGATIVE EFFECTS IN RELATION TO POSSIBLE FUTURE VIRUS====== Professor O'Neill might have educated answers to those fears. We will develop antibodies which may in time help us fight it but so far only one person (in the USA) has been identified with sufficient an...

Re: Maughan & O' Malley / Dunne & Maher
I'm afraid I don't share your enthusiasm for vaccines Fairplay. Apart from side effects they will leave people wide open to the next coronavirus or suchlike that comes along. This is what makes me worry will we ever see crowds at sporting venues again. Quick fix solutions are not the answer. The rea...
