Re: Offaly vs Tippearly NHL Round 4 13/3/2011
I agree totally with Middleman. Tipptopper for once summed up the situation fairly (except of course his closing shot about the christy ring cup). Offaly have slipped drastically and the future does not look bright. I know we have a few players out through injury but what's very worrying is the lack...

Re: Limerick vs Offaly
I agree with Bazil. There has been very unfair criticism of Reynolds on this site. It's fine to criticise a player's performance in a game but when there is constant sniping at a player - even when he plays a good game - it's way over the top.

I will say only one thing about the historic and welcome rout of Fianna Fail in the General Election. They had it Cumann.

Re: Hurling All Stars Joke
I think ye're missing the point lads! Delamere didn't actually have to be at the match to create the material in order to get a laugh. I found that particular gag quite funny. Some of his other quips might have been better kept til after the 9pm watershed.

Re: International rules
Good analysis black spot. Niall McNamee was played totally out of position which raises questions about the Irish management's ability to get the best out of the squad. Last night confirmed my own view that that International Rules has little to offer in terms of entertainment value or quality. The ...

Re: Weekend Quarter Finals
I would agree with BNM man. Offaly should take great belief from that Down performance today. We were quite unlucky to lose to them and look at what they did to Kerry today. It should encourage Offaly to put in a big effort next year and know that with hard work and a bit more self belief they can g...

Re: Tom Cribbin
I think the last thing we should do is get rid of Tom Cribbin. Why get rid of the manager when the team is showing great signs of improvement, when young players with huge potential are being successfully integrated into the team and when the guts of a settled panel has been achieved? What struck me...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurling Management
I dont relish criticising management but I have to say last Sunday's team selection and tactics have cast a serious doubt over Joe Dooley's credentials for being retained as Offaly manager. What is needed next year is someone to 1) instil belief in the players that they can beat any opposition on an...

Re: Offaly vs Tipperary SHC Qualifier Phase 3 17/07/2010
Fierce disapppointing today. Im afraid we were beaten before the game started. We were never going to win with the way the team lined out. Why on earth was David Kenny (one of the best full backs in Ireland) played at wing back? And Rory Hanniffy centre back? Hanniffy was hugely missed at midfield a...

Re: Offaly vs Down SFC Qualifier Rnd 3 - 17/07/2010
Hard luck to Offaly tonight. They could and should have won it. They showed great heart and played some good attacking football. Alas their finishing let them down badly. 1 goal and 10 points is never enough to win a game at this level. They young lads were brilliant especially Anton Sullivan and Br...

Re: Offaly vs Tipperary SHC Qualifier Phase 3 17/07/2010
I agree totally with Great Day for the Parish. Maybe Egan or Verney are not fully fit. If Egan was playing corner back and Rigney wing back with Hanniffy and Murphy midfield Id give us a good chance of winning. With the line up just announced I wouldn't be as hopeful. Hayden coming on as a sub at wi...

Re: LSHC 30th May Offaly v Antrim Parnell Park 3:30pm
Lads, what's the problem with somebody asking for the subs list? Given that 5 subs are used and we hear so much talk about 'strength in depth', 'impact subs' and having a 'strong panel' I for one find it annoying when all that's usually announced in the media is the first fifteen. Its the same on th...

Re: Offaly v Kilkenny N H L 28/02/2010
I agree with the above, our backs played well, but our forwards have an awful lot of improving to do. David Kenny was immense at full back, with Derek Morkam having a fine game on the wing. He is a really promising hurler. James Rigney played his heart out at midfield. I thought 3 of the forwards sh...
