Re: NFL Div 3 predictions 2023

I think you’ve covered most of it there. A character building win despite a poor performance. Any team will find it hard to break through that Fermanagh blanket defence so to come away with the 2 points is a good day’s work. Panda was the man of the match for that flurry of 5 points when we needed i...

Re: NFL Div 3 predictions 2023

Down vs Antrim - Hard to see any result here other than a Down win. They were impressive last week by all accounts and Antrim were poor for large parts of the Offaly game, only springing into life late on when Offaly legs were tiring. I’ll go Down by 6 points to continue their march to promotion whi...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2023

Just seen this comment in this weeks offaly indo ‘ The absence of a significant cohort of players making an impression in the Fitzgibbon Cup is a concern’ Has anyone an idea of what players we have making an impression in the fitzgibbon cup? That is the point that the piece is making. The fact that...

Re: NFL Div 3 predictions 2023

Great start in that a win sets us up to look up rather than down the table. Not being at it and limited radio coverage leaves us in a tough situation to give an opinion, but a few things, -Listening to the last few mins pre Panda goal leaves me fearful that leadership is an issue and we could have ...

Re: NFL Div 3 predictions 2023

Well today’s win almost guarantees we won’t be relegated already…

Big test at home next week against Fermanagh, if we can pull off a win there then we can start to dream of a promotion push.

Re: NFL Div 3 predictions 2023

I agree with your 4 predictions for this week. Fermanagh vs Longford - I would’ve fancied Fermanagh more in this game a few weeks back but Longford winning the O’Byrne Cup makes this close to a 50-50 for me but I’ll go with Fermanagh to make use of their home advantage and win by a point. Down vs Ti...

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2023

I find it hard to believe there’s any Offaly supporter out there who genuinely believes we should’ve played this fixture.

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2023

The right decision by Offaly County Board and Liam Kearns, why should we put our lads back out again on Sunday on hard ground to pick up even more injuries. We didn’t pull out either, asked for it to be moved to next week and Leinster GAA were open to it but Louth refused, a second dirty stroke from...

Cathal Flynn has opted out of the panel this year, I believe Cathal Donoghue is on the panel but like a lot of them will be playing Sigerson first.

Yes he’s on the panel and named on the bench for tomorrow’s game against Dublin.

Cillian Kiely hurled for Offaly last night in a challenge v Galway at Faithful Fields. “Tipperary and Offaly are fined €250 for playing a challenge match” https://www.independent.ie/sport/gaelic-games/hurling/tipperary-and-offaly-are-fined-250-for-playing-a-challenge-match-42231738.html We’ll be du...

Re: GAA Season Ticket 2023

I’d agree with most of the above but I think if you tried the two tier OAP pass, almost all will opt for the cheaper option because what’s the incentive not to? I’m not sure why they decided to charge the OAP’s after years of not doing so (other than to boost their coffers) but if they are going to ...

Re: Club football managers 22/23

Ferbane have appointed Ger Rafferty as manager, it’d be fair to say he wasn’t their first choice and there’s not a great deal of optimism around this appointment. Ferbane must regret not taking out Rhode in the semi finals, when they had the upper hand. Who would have been Ferbane’s preference as S...
