Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024
I suppose this is the challenge these days , getting perspective. We all have views and grand, few words on a computer is easily done. I havn't been to any games yet and didnt see the Wexford game. We will struggle to make big strides in the short term , but the introduction of these successful U2o...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
They were wearing it before the game For a photo shoot against Antrim. Not hope of getting a picture on my phone With the weather . It's 82 meets 91 . Beginning to think you were hallucinating to be honest. It wasn't this by any chance...... https://www.oneills.com/offaly-hurling-player-fit-short-s...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024
Lads are getting totally carried away with themselves after last night. Yes it was nice to see them compete with a Liam McCarthy team and I actually thought the fitness levels were good, the pressing from our full forward line in particular was impressive. Kiely is an absolute warrior and needs pro...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024
Dublin in Croke Park in 2018. Working back, beat Wexford down there in 2016. And a win over Limerick in 2015. When was the last time point we actually got a point in top flight hurling? Offaly beat Carlow in Division 1B in 2019. Carlow were Liam McCarthy that year. Played 4 games and lost them all ...

Re: Parish Rule
Considering both clubs were senior about 15 years ago its a considerable fall. Ballyskenagh have gone from being in a senior hurling final to being an amalgamated club in the 4th of 5 tiers of Offaly hurling in the space of 20 years. Makes you respect what the likes of Seir Kieran, Kinnitty and Coo...

Re: Parish Rule
I suppose there is many factors what is the club doing to keep the players attracted to the club and wanting the young lads to stay? Going on what is leaving it would suggest not much. Considering both clubs were senior about 15 years ago its a considerable fall. Maybe the club developed them and n...

Re: Parish Rule
Following on from Luke Watkins’ controversial transfer from Ballyskenagh/Killavilla to Shinrone the Carney twins are now looking to follow the same path. If you were a member of Ballyskenagh/Killavilla you’d have to fairly disillusioned with all this. https://www.offalyexpress.ie/news/gaa/1403598/ta...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024
Dan Ravenhill, Adam Screeney, Declan Cleary & Dan Bourke are in with seniors so far not sure who else. Adrian Cleary and Paddy Clancy have opted out for the year. Also heard that Paul Cleary from Shinrone and Kieran Connors from Clareen are in. Langton brothers no longer part of the panel. Dan ...

Re: Condolences Thread
An amazingly gifted hurler. A joy to watch. One of the greatest forwards to ever grace the game. 1 All Ireland SHC 1981 2 Leinster SHC 1980, 1981. 6 Offaly SHC 1967, 1978, 1979, 1983, 1984, 1985 1 All Star 1981 Corner Forward on the Offaly Team of the Millenium. But his infectious enthusiasm for the...

Re: Offaly Senior A Hurling Championship 2023
Correct. So theoretically they can start 2024 playing Senior B and work their way to Senior A. The reality of it for K/K next year is by the end of the group stage of the championship they will probably have 21 or 22 guys who can only hurl Senior A for the rest of the year. The 18 named, plus the 3 ...
