Re: Offaly Senior A Hurling Championship 2023
So the county board are concerned about the small Crowds at games 👀 I wonder why . We should had the senior championship over by the first week of September Let U20s and the rest have September to get games done with etc . common sense !!! SuperHans what are you on about (again)? Run our senior cha...

Re: Junior A Hurling Championship 2023
ah come on now its not like they have played 20 games this season and are overtrained for that level 7 days is perfectly fine. If a player picks up an injury it doesn’t give much time for recovery. If it happened at senior level I’m sure whatever club was involved wouldn’t be too happy. Happened re...

Re: Offaly Intermediate Club Hurling Championship 2023
36% of voters had Carrig/Riverstown in the final. Only 4 voted for Coolderry, just 1 more than for Edenderry, I wonder who was voting for them. 😅 Belmont also had a vote and ended up relegated. Coolderry had their best weekend of hurling in years with 2 hugely important wins. Goals win games and thi...

Re: Offaly Senior B Hurling Championship 2023
13% of votes on the original poll had Clara in the final, as they now face into relegation.
Nobody had predicted Birr, who will be up against it in their semi final.
KK and Clodiagh Gaels final seems the most likely scenario?

Re: Offaly Senior A Hurling Championship 2023
From the original poll, a good % had Belmont reaching a semi while 1 poster had Kinnitty.
Other than that, all teams that were voted for remain in the championship.

Re: Offaly Senior A Hurling Championship 2023
With the Senior A and B knockout matchups now finalised I would anticipate: The Birr vs Shinrone Quarter Final to double up with the Birr vs Lusmagh Semi Final and be held in OCP While the St Rynaghs vs Coolderry Quarter Final to double up with the K/K vs Clodiagh Gaels Semi Final and be held in Bi...

Re: Offaly Senior A Hurling Championship 2023
What a win for Ballinamere. Shinrone seemed to take the foot off the gas. A win yesterday seemed to mean a lot more to them that it did to Shinrone. Now they are 60 minutes from a county final, with a month to prepare and all footballing obligations out the window. Best Coolderry performance I’ve se...

Re: Offaly Intermediate Club Hurling Championship 2023
Carrig 0-24 Rynaghs 1-12 , another big score put up by CR whom in my opinion are far to strong for this grade, tomorrow’s semi should be a tighter affair. Carrig were 5-6 points favourites as it was. That was before a seriously depleted Rynaghs side had their talisman Donal Moran...

Re: Offaly Senior A Hurling Championship 2023
Your missing my point, my point is Drumcullen should not be playing Coolderrys second team in Drumcullens top tier which is as of now intermediate level, would it not be better leave Drumcullen with their own level of teams like C&R and other such teams, the winners (or both finalists) go up a ...

Re: Offaly Senior A Hurling Championship 2023
If a club X’s 1st team is incapable of beating Club Y’s 2nd team what business have they hurling Club Y’s 1st team? Therefore a grade below Senior for clubs made of 1st teams only is not feasible. For example Drumcullen lost to Coolderry’s 2nd team in the Intermediate Championship. Do you think Dru...

Re: Offaly Senior A Hurling Championship 2023
You could have a 2nd teams only competition separated from the 1st teams. If you don't win your level of county title or worse finished 3rd or 4th, you don't want to be promoted. Ideally you want to win your way up. In senior b, I still think either clara or clodaigh gaels will win it out. If carri...

Re: Offaly Senior A Hurling Championship 2023
You might think it's funny but look at the big picture Look at the senior county team Look at the performance of our club teams in Leinster You can't just keep doing the same thing and expect a different result . Only people who want that are the glorious volunteers On expenses lol 👍 And what probl...

Re: Best hurling pitch in the county
Some pitches are great in Summer and not so much so in Winter. Kilcormac is fabulous summer pitch with great surface for hurling. It used to be bit soft in winter. Not sure if still the case. KK also have new pitch behind that that looks to have a brilliant surface that is inter county standard. Dr...

Re: Offaly Senior A Hurling Championship 2023
Agreed it needs to be more competitive but whose noses are going to be out of place . 6 senior teams is enough and until the county can start to wag it's tail again . Good intermediate hurling is better than crap senior .. But turkey's don't vote for Xmas Any times or dates on the final round of ga...

Re: Offaly Senior A Hurling Championship 2023
Ballinamere marginal favs versus Belmont (10/11 vs evens)
KK 4/7 Ryanghs 13/8
Coolderry 4/9 Seir Kieran 15/8
Kinnitty 8/15 Tullamore 13/8
Hard to see how Tullamore are shorter odds against Kinnitty than Clareen against Coolderry.
Although the bookies have never got it too far wrong before.
