Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2023
Kerry beat Carlow today by 2 points. Kildare won by a point v Down. The game v Kerry will be a vital game, the winners will top the table. There could be some tight games ahead in the group. The winners of us vs Kerry mightn’t necessarily top the group. Kildare beat Carlow by 13 last week and will ...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2023
A win is a win, first half sounded very poor going by commentary but a good improvement in the second thanks in no small part to the introduction of Eoghan Cahill just before halftime, why has he not been starting? We seem to have four of five players carrying the load for the rest of the team and w...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2023
He’s not wrong though, why on earth are we wasting money on having Brendan Maher available on the phone a few times per month?

Re: NFL Div 3 predictions 2023
If it wasn't the type of game it was in first half, would it have been different for Maher and Dunne to be fair? I think so. If Dunne was there for last 20 mins when ball was coming into forwards, then he probably gets a few scores. Is he lacking mobility? Probably, if playing as a withdrawn corner...

Re: NFL Div 3 predictions 2023
I would tend to agree with the points in relation to Joe and Nigel. They both appear to have had something to offer but the fact that they missed so much under Maughan and also were out of favour at other times over the last number of years leave them with a lot of catching up to do. However the fi...

Re: NFL Div 3 predictions 2023
A lot of snap judgements being made and we're only in February. Both Nigel Dunne and Joe Maher were for the most part not involved in John Maughan's regime, and are only returning to the inter county scene. I'd be inclined to wait longer to see how they can adjust. And let's think of what might hap...

Re: NFL Div 3 predictions 2023
Joe will be better, playing out of position and doing a job. A savage player and not just a club player. Joe will get better and I’d like to see CJ get some game time soon Dunne has 10 years at Inter-County and our best forward for about 4 of those, a few people actually said yesterday they never s...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2023
I'm disappointed to see so many negative posts here. These guys deserve our support and from what I see they are proud to represent their county. It would be different if players and/or management were not putting in the effort. Besides, there are several good hurlers on that team. Where are all th...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2023
It’s always good to win and I’m usually as positive as anybody but this team just seems to go from bad to worse.
A full half with two extra men against Down and we scrape over by 3 points.
Kerry will put this team to the sword in 3 weeks time on todays evidence.

Re: NFL Div 3 predictions 2023
I think you’ve covered most of it there. A character building win despite a poor performance. Any team will find it hard to break through that Fermanagh blanket defence so to come away with the 2 points is a good day’s work. Panda was the man of the match for that flurry of 5 points when we needed i...

Re: NFL Div 3 predictions 2023
Down vs Antrim - Hard to see any result here other than a Down win. They were impressive last week by all accounts and Antrim were poor for large parts of the Offaly game, only springing into life late on when Offaly legs were tiring. I’ll go Down by 6 points to continue their march to promotion whi...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2023
Just seen this comment in this weeks offaly indo ‘ The absence of a significant cohort of players making an impression in the Fitzgibbon Cup is a concern’ Has anyone an idea of what players we have making an impression in the fitzgibbon cup? That is the point that the piece is making. The fact that...

Re: NFL Div 3 predictions 2023
Great start in that a win sets us up to look up rather than down the table. Not being at it and limited radio coverage leaves us in a tough situation to give an opinion, but a few things, -Listening to the last few mins pre Panda goal leaves me fearful that leadership is an issue and we could have ...

Re: NFL Div 3 predictions 2023
Well today’s win almost guarantees we won’t be relegated already…
Big test at home next week against Fermanagh, if we can pull off a win there then we can start to dream of a promotion push.
