Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
Confidence will be high though after a surprise win in Parnell park, while we won't win the game. Why won't we win the game today? And why was the result in parnell Park a "surprise" ? We're playing Galway? We were playing Dublin in Parnell park? Any day any Offaly team beat any Dublin te...

Re: Championship Predictions- For Fun 🙂
Hi Guys, seen this on Hoganstand so think we might join the fun on here - please feel free to enter. Scoring as follows: *** Normal Time Only *** (no points will be earned if you pick a team to win, but they can only do so AET or penalties) Predict the winner = 1 point Predict a draw = 3 points Pre...

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
Heard similar.
Conor Doyle would be a massive boost to have back, anyone know if he is far off? Hurled a bit in goals with UL freshers this year due to injury.

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
Behaviour of the Dublin sideline was also a disgrace throughout the game. I suppose that's what is to expect going to Parnell Park. Out of curiosity, in what way? Abuse directed towards Offaly players and management and linesman. Outright encouragement of the filth that went on. Manager took down t...

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
Tweaked his hamstring but had already been on the end of brutal belts from the Dublin backs. Behaviour of the Dublin sideline was also a disgrace throughout the game. I suppose that's what is to expect going to Parnell Park. The scare from Dublin might be exactly what Offaly need to bring them back ...

Re: U20 footballers 2024
Drying out after yesterday . The first half performance would confuse the Brightest scientist at NASA Great spirit in the second half Louth had some decent players . Our goalkeeper made some great stops . On to the Kildare game next Tuesday. Yesterday's late change of ground is the reason we need t...

Re: Shane Dooley Retirement
It would be fair to say that Shane Dooley would have been a great addition to any Offaly team when in his prime. His scoring totals speak for themselves. A household name when we hadn't many. He probably had every right to pack it in a number of years ago, and was probably more an indication of how...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
For Offaly to go down, we would first have to lose to a very poor Limerick.
Wicklow would also need to beat Antrim.
Both of these are unlikely to happen, never mind for both to happen.

Re: Club Managers 2024
Think it’s Paul Keane from Adare over Shinrone. Managed O’Callaghan Mills last year. Likes to train most nights a week by all accounts. You’d wonder is that for the players’ benefit or his. Shane Curley from Four Roads doing the training with Belmont. Think Gary Flannery from Shannonbridge who is no...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024
Very positive result in Birr, heartbreaking not to get the win. Clare had to go to the big guns after half time (Reidy, Cleary, Shanagher) to bring them back into the game with the wind. Only time Clare led was in the 75th minute when they scored the winner from a very soft free against David Nally....

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024
I’d like to hope there’s a balance between both.
But at the end of the day it’s a results process and winning Joe McDonagh is the most important thing at the moment.

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024
Stronger Offaly team tomorrow than I expected. Kiely back and Burke on the subs. Friction ongoing between senior and u20 management over usage. Weak enough Clare side but a lot of lads playing for spots on their squad. They also need a win to assure them of a semi final spot. Let’s hope we can give ...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024
Westmeath will be favourites for the Joe McDonagh, and Offaly have made significant progress this year. Those two things can be true at the same time. It's not nice to say it because the clear implication is that we had fallen way behind Westmeath, but the simple truth of the matter is that we had....

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024
Fair dues i admire your confidence. Id say at this point that westmeath are joe mc favourites, give their arguably better performances against a similar level of opposition that we’ve faced. Westmeath will be favourites for the Joe McDonagh, and Offaly have made significant progress this year. Thos...
