Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
The Down game will be difficult. The likelihood is Down might give panel members game time, and these will be lads anxious to make a statement. Questions about commitment or attitude are moot at this stage- pride might dig a result or performance out, but the rest of the year will also be an issue. ...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
Was working yesterday and flicked through updates, saw a score 10 minutes out and presumed it was the wrong way round. Had a bit of time this morning to read a few bits and pieces (a mixed bag of a weekend, between Eurovision, Tyrone tanking us, and then the Offaly result!). 2 thoughts buzzing in th...

Re: Offaly Minor Football and Hurling 2023
Outclassed today- was involved in the background. A couple of players missing through injury didn't help the cause, but Mels were much the better regardless. Mels started like a train, and it spooked the Offaly lads, and just couldn't get any momentum until the damage was done. It was disappointing ...

Re: National Foothall league Div 2 predictions
Awful lack of ambition, playing with one, and sometimes two, sweepers against 14 men. So often in the 2nd half it looked like Offaly were the team a man down.

Re: National Foothall league Div 2 predictions
From a Ros point of view, this game looked like a banker after Rounds 1 and two, but it has all the hallmarks of a banana skin today. Offaly have upped their scoring last two games, and have pace and runners from deep that never suits us. We were operating on a makeshift midfield this past few years...

Re: National Foothall league Div 2 predictions
I would have thought before the fixtures, Clare would be pivotal to survival on head to head. Cork were no great shakes against us today, and neither Down nor Meath would put the fear of God into teams, but the problem is most teams would have been targeting Offaly for two points, and today won't ma...

Re: Offaly u20 2021
Strange feeling after that- heartbroken as a Rossie, but so happy for the lads I'd know on the Offaly panel, the backroom team, and the likes of Liam O'Reilly and others behind the scenes who did so much to pave the way for this. No complaints or arguments here, best team won, plenty of ifs, buts an...

If it was any of 30 other counties, I'd be rooting for them, but no sentiment Sunday!!

Re: Offaly u20 2021
Looking forward to when the conversations revert back to the game- same with the Rossie forum!! Like most on here, I watched the Roscommon semi final on tv. It was in stark contrast to our game in that it was a wet evening and harder to judge as we played our semi in perfect conditions. Probably ju...

Re: Offaly GAA Progress
A rising tide lifts all boats, and a little bit of momentum permeates through all levels: youngsters training in any club now have success on the horizon, and I'd imagine coaches in any club can see this. Of course the challenges will be steeper next year, but the difference a bit of positivity make...

Re: Byrne v Duignan
Best of luck to Michael and any newly elected officers. Fair play to the outgoing members. I wouldn't fancy any of them roles, and it takes serious dedication to take them on. I had very limited dealings with Tommy Byrne- on each occasion, I would have to say he was very straight down the line. He l...

. And now for the solution please[/quote] When I glanced at this first and saw solution, I thought 'Oh Jesus, did I say solution- I was definitely getting carried away so!!'. No, it was suggestion, thankfully. Firstly, an evening can be a long time in Offaly GAA, as I've just seen about Kevin Marti...

It's Kevin Martin's fault. It's the County Board's fault. It's the players' fault. It's OCP's fault. It's the underage fault. It's the Development Squad's fault. It's the South Offaly clubs' fault. It's the North Offaly clubs' fault. It's Tommy Burns' fault. It's (insert previous manager's name) fau...
