Re: JP McManus donation
Unpopular opinion I know, but instead of each club getting 12,000, a relatively small amount, I’d rather it was kept by the county board to fund capital infrastructure or clear debt on FF or OCP.

Re: New club football format
This is so bad is there anyway it can be reversed?
Following the, I think, uniformly negative reaction, could it be voted on again or alternative structures proposed at the next county board meeting?

Re: New club football format
This format is absolutely farcical. One of biggest issues facing both the inter-county and club GAA calendars is the amount of time spent on meaningless games and/or meaningless competitions. The January inter-county competitions, the club and inter-county leagues, etc etc. This is the latest exampl...

Odds are, we’re at the beginning of a Ballygunner style domination. The only other club in Offaly who could make a reasonable claim to get better over the coming years and thus mount a challenge is Ballinamere.

Land doesn’t play GAA, people do.
But yes, KK must be up there area wise along Drumcullen.

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
What would the expectations be for next year? For what its worth here is what I think. For too long now we have been making up excuses that we are in transition and I'm hearing it again these days. That's absolute rubbish. We are not in transition or at least should not be. Unlike underage hurling,...

As far as I am aware, Tullamore have never won a Leinster club championship game. I am open to correction on that though.frankthetank wrote: ↑Sun Oct 22, 2023 4:30 pm Any of the stattos know in what year did Tullamore last win a Leinster club championship game?

Re: Club football championship 2023
For the forward talent at their disposal, they are falling short of where they could be I'd feel. To score only 2 pts in second half at home after a month lay off and lots of prep time is fairly poor. They should have been mad keen to go at Summerhill today at home, but showed same old failings. Th...

Scoring two points in a second half won't win you many games. Tullamore's travails in attack are by now a recurring theme.

Re: Club football championship 2023
Two very compelling games over the weekend, the result could have gone either way in both matches. Both Rhode and Edenderry will be sick and both had some fantastic individual performances in Ruairi McNamee and Anton Sullivan for Rhode and Cian Farrell for Edenderry, among others. Great entertainmen...

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2023
An incredible amount of nonsense being talked here. Too much to counter individually. In brief, there is huge potential in Offaly football at the moment. The problem is not tempering expectation, it’s the exact opposite. It’s believing that, with the right preparation, we can be much, much better th...

8 teams in the Senior Championship. Everybody plays each other. Top four to seeded semi finals. Bottom two to relegation final. Fifth and sixth: See you next year. That provides an extremely competitive group series with every game of vital importance. It also provides more guaranteed championship g...
