Re: Offaly Senior Hurling Management 2012
Rumours abound at the moment of management team drawn from 80's hurlers. That won't go down to well around here!! Heard Aidan Fogarty is seriously in the mix. Must be because of that hugely succesful 2 years he had in charge of Ryanghs in 2009 and 2010!! If I'm not mistaken, he was over them for th...

Re: Brian Gavin
This is great news. It's a great honour not only for the man himself but also for his club and county.
A superb ref, I've no doubt the day will run smoothly.
Congratulations Brian.

Townman, there are certain things you just don't joke about and that's one of them.

Deplorable. This from the current county U-21 manager. The mind boggles.kinnittyman wrote:Then we had the obligatory slanging match where the most vocal was of course Paddy Kirwan. He shouted some absolute dung it has to be said.

Re: Offaly Jersey
The standard life-span of a jersey in other counties in 2-3 years. Given that our current edition has just finished it's third year in use does anyone know if any moves are being made on replacing it?

Re: Offaly Senior Hurling Management 2012
Talked to a few more players there recently the result being that for me Francis Forde seems to be the outstanding choice. A great coach along and good communicator both in the dressing room and on the sideline, the feeling among some is that he alone improved them more this year than the last three...

The hurling committee is horrendous. As if the list of managerial candidates wasn't bad enough now we have this. Watch disaster unfold.

This debate isn't right at all......I thought Lone Shark was supposed to be anti-Tullamore?

I learnt that one the hard way for the Offaly Clare qualifier in 2004. Probably best I didn't see anything though.Plain of the Herbs wrote:Yup, and the front 15 rows are below pitch-level!!!GreatDayForTheParish wrote:Head for the back so, the Mackey Stand wouldn't have the best reputation for keeping the rain out.

Re: Hurling to return to St Brendan's Park
However "Anyone with even a modicum of sense would know...." I can't have. Attendances in Birr for a lot of these type games were very unspectacular too. I can remember being at several Minor Hurling championship games in Birr when 500 would have been the maximum attendance. Likewise leag...

Re: Hurling to return to St Brendan's Park
The next time Offaly hurlers get a home championship game against teams like Dublin, Cork, Wexford, Limerick, Tipperary, or Waterford, they won't be played at a 6,000 capacity Birr ground. If Offaly hurl more league games in Birr, they might gain a better edge over visiting teams who mightn't cope ...
