Re: The Throwing problem in hurling

The crux is that lots of people think there is too much handpassing, never mind too much illegal handpassing.
By focusing on the technique, they're trying to find ways to make it a less attractive option.

In football, the 'too much handpassing' crusade has had a three-decade head start ...

IMO 90% OF SO-CALLED HANDPASSES ARE FOULS AND IRRITATE ME !!!!
I agree with both opinions, the handpassing rules are breached regularly at Inter county level. If the rule is there IMPLEMENT IT.

Declan Kelly did win an U 20 All Ireland football title. He is still a good manager.
Two good wins to date, Mickey Harte and himself are a good combination.

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2025

I see trump has signed an executive order
So that Mickey Harte becomes a overlord
Of Offaly If we beat loais
Give it time he will be sorting out the substitutions mind you no harm if he did one for floodlights and a bar in O'Connor park .
(Lidl have opened in pub in Northern Ireland )
In the ...

Re: General Election 2024 - Offaly Constituency

Anyone for votes for Paul Murphy, or Richard Boyd Barrett does so to elect a TD to grandstand from the opposition benches.
The Monk voters the same. Put him in to annoy the government of the day.

Most people voting for Murphy or Boyd Barrett do so on the basis of their groundwork in their ...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2025

Is Farrell there? Surely you’d see him among the subs?

Don’t think anyone predicted that, been a while since offaly hit 20 points in January?

I've been sayin since the end of last year that we would benefit from how declan kelly did things last year, with a little bit better luck ...

Thank God nobody has overreacted on here to the first round of the league on the last weekend of January…

First game played and drawn. Another big test away to Laois on Sunday.
There are a few really big challenges ahead of Offaly hurlers in the league, I think Johnny Kelly would have targeted ...

Re: Allianz leaving predictions

They’ve been involved with the league for 35 years, although 2025 is the last year of the contract.
My money would be on them renewing, I wonder will they get a shock like the rest of us when their premium quadruples.

After 35 years with Allianz, they are established. Cost of premium is a ...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2025

Great reporting faithfulfanatic.
A few years ago, the most prominent Offaly man in the Fitzgibbon Cup was Mick McDonagh. It's a good trend that we're better represented these days.

Mick never made the panel, but always wore the jersey. Never far from the post match interviews. Did he ever ...

She certainly doesn’t represent the majority of us in this county given we voted 58% in favour of repealing the 8th amendment.

And most certainly doesn’t represent the majority of people in Ireland who voted 66% in favour.

It’s all well and good howling at the moon from the opposition ...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2025

Lads I said this weeks ago, these people who look at the table and go “ah sure we should be giving promotion a rattle” are absolutely deluded. Whether people like it or not we will be doing very well to stay up. Can someone tell me confidently where 3 wins to keep us up are coming from? Because ...

Thats at least the last 6 years where that has been the stated goal

Bit of ambition and expectation wouldn’t go amiss methinks
I think people are being realistic, based on recent league form.
