Re: Team v Limerick

In fairness OF speaks a lot of truth - and makes his ( or her ?! very pc) point very well. Its just hard to have to agree that that is the case at times. We were used to good times and didn't realise that such hard work is now required from underage upwards to ensure we maintain high standards at in...

Re: Team v Limerick

Offalys Future You should change your footer In the prescence of doubt , confidence cannot exist !! :D I hope we win, don't expect to, but i think we do have the capability to test them severely if we play for a full 70 minutes. To do that we need to stop Limerick scoring goals, AND need our forward...

Re: 16 August 1997 - Offaly vs. Meath

I have been lucky to be at all Offalys successes since 1980 onwards - fantastic times for us with such a small pick always. I was sitting two seats away from Graham Geraghty in the stand in 1997- the look of shock on his face was priceless. He took it like a man at the end and said well done to us. ...

Re: Next Offaly football manager.....

I also would like see an experienced manager come in but would they be interested in us ? sean boylan would be my favourite - even though I hate Meath, I always admired his methods and getting teams organised, fit and hard to beat ( apart from us in 97 and 00  !!) I think he'd be interested...

Re: u21 match

We were never in complete control of the ball like KK were when we were attempting to get it under control. Two to three touches or a fumble ( like for the short puc out )and suddenly two KK players are all over you. In contrast even before the match I could see the complete & instant control th...

Re: Hurling Rules being ignored

usual one for me is a defender aiming hurl at elbow hands knuckles when "going for Sliothar". Little flicks on player under dropping ball to distract before referee looks at them also. I thought KK were getting away with a lot of that in Portlaoise, and then cleaning up all the broken/ spi...

Re: club championship

The usual reason one senior round is played is indeed to mark players as senior status before the intermediate / junior c'ships commence. The County Board are to be commended this year for trying to map out the season. However with the advent of the whole qualifiers series of games / under acheiving...

Re: OFFALY V KILKENNY.

I suppose we are in a limbo situation , Not good enough to compete seriously for all ireland at the moment, but too strong for christy ring teams and i take uibhfhailis points completely on board You have to strive to maximise your potential in sport as in life - if you can't be the best, be the bes...

Re: OFFALY V KILKENNY.

long time listener - first time caller !! admire the work at all times on this site - postings good and bad - agreeing or disagreeing with peoples points Last Sunday was good for 30 minutes - a pity the game lasts 70 !- Our team and mgt need to address that in a big way. 2 and 3 touches to get ball ...
