Re: Club Football 2026
I think it basically comes down to Edenderry just not being at it this year. They are quite fortunate to be in the strong group as they would be facing a relegation final in any other year. It sounds like management have been ran or walked so if it was any other year, they would be in bother.
I ...

Re: Offaly Hurling Managements 27
The results in both years were very poor. I hope that explains it for you.private joker wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2026 10:34 pm In what way was minor a shitshow? I know results were poor but you can only work with what you have.

Re: Offaly Club Hurling 2026
Birr are as far away as they have ever have been from winning a championship.
They seem to have rectified their underage structure but that will take time.
That performance vs K/K last year seems to have been the exception rather than the norm. A lot of people hung their hat on it.
I’d ...

Re: Offaly Senior B Hurling Championship
I wouldn’t mind seeing the Senior B and Senior A amalgamated into 1 and then run the Senior B after. Something like the football, where there’s a stronger and weaker group/tiered groups, those who qualify contest Senior A proper then those who don’t go into the Senior B.
I know it’s a random ...

Re: Offaly management 2027
Colm Colins would be a very worthwhile person to interview I feel. His track record with Clare with their similiar geographical divide to Offaly regarding hurling and football would be a valuable asset.
Collins worked so well because he was a passionate Clare man. He stuck the course so long ...

Re: Offaly management 2027
I don't know Stephen Rochford's personal circumstances, I've never met the man, I've no idea if he'd be the right person for the job or if he'd be interested.
I would however, STRONGLY push back on the idea that this isn't an attractive gig for an ambitious, progressive manager. It's a dream ...

Re: Offaly management 2027
You do realise he’s training tullamore don’t you?
Amazingly, I do.
I also realise that being a manager for a division 3 intercounty team is a completely different level of commitment and scrutiny to being a coach (not manager) for a very successful club team. Hence my comment. Perhaps ...

Re: Offaly management 2027
Stephen Rochford would be a fantastic appointment.
Whether he'd want to do it is another question. It's a long way from Crossmolina and lets be honest, we're not exactly an 'on broadway' proposition.

Re: Offaly management 2027
The amount of rubbish written on this forum is incredible. Examples being all the sages here who wrote they were re-appointed.
The general personal invective from some posters here is also a disgrace. A bit of common decency is apparently a rare thing these days.
Thanks to all on the management ...

Re: Offaly U20 Hurling Championship
I agree. And it’s a fair comment to make POTH, no need for wistful talking about hay or whatever.
Not good for the clubs involved, the competition and Offaly hurling in general that teams are unable to field at A level.
For Kinnitty and Lusmagh in particular, demographics are against them.

KK will win at a canter. Would like to see Ballinamere play to their potential and would be great to see them get over the line.

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026
On reflection I think one of the main issues from yesterday was belief for players and supporters.
We can draw a rough line through the results in the Leinster championship this year and say that Kilkenny are roughly at our level. However, I think we can all agree that Kilkenny would not have ...
