Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024
The draw and replay with Galway was 2010. Followed the draw and extra time win over Antrim. 2011 was Dublin in Croke Park, left it too late to start hurling, then nearly caught them. And a qualifier in Pairc Uí Chaoimh that was lost by a point after hurling the shit out of the Corkies in the first ...

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
Getting excited about nothing really in fairness I think... He only told the truth. Can't be making public assumptions/declarations about ascending to the senior job in Offaly when there is a man in situ. Someone asked why didn't he stay with the minor age? He stayed with the group that Offaly had i...

And fair play to them
got back on the horse and chalked up a couple of impressive wins in the past 2 weekends.

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
It makes our Tailteann Cup effort look absolutely deplorable really. Laois playing in a final against Sligo or Down. Whereas we lost all of our games with a negative 28 score difference...pigeon house biffo wrote: ↑Sun Jun 23, 2024 3:37 pm What does our championship win against laois account for now?

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
Being hammered by Dublin and being hammered by division 4 outfits are not the same thing, so I'm not sure what the point is there. Also, I didn't suggest anything regarding next year. The county board, players, management will determine who's in charge next year so leave them to it. The physicality ...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
Hammered by London, Limerick, Cavan, Wexford and Westmeath in the past 2 years. Go back to the 2000s and we were dumped out of the qualifiers by the likes of Carlow when we were a division 1 outfit. 17 points in arrears in the first half vs Down in 2008. Multiple trimmings from Wicklow. It's pretty ...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
Laois rebounding to knock out Kildare and make the semis is a damning indictment of the campaign that we had in the Tailteann Cup. Teams around us stringing results together and getting experience into their players. That is not something that can be placed at the feet of DK even if the results this...

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
I would say there’s no hurling club in the county that only plays hurling? Yet there’s about 10/12 football clubs that only play football. Something which should come into focus in order to develop hurling further. In fairness I would have to call out that this is not quite correct. Of this cohort,...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024
Carlow's relegation confirms that this year's Joe McDonagh cup winners will have home fixtures against Galway and Antrim, and away fixtures against Dublin, Kilkenny and Wexford in next year's Leinster Senior hurling championship. (The reverse of Carlow's fixtures this year.) It's hard not to read t...

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
I’d love to hear the rationale for a 7:15pm final on a Saturday. I can only assume TV coverage? Lads, a fantastic win. Well done to to all involved. The county is very proud of you all. Reflecting on it, I think there is still loads more learnings to be taken and room for this squad to improve part...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024
Discussed over in the hurling championship thread. The winner of Laois vs Offaly plays 3rd place in Munster. Loser plays Leinster. Alternates each year.
