Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
i kept my powder dry til now on here, i did relate to this on the separate Declan Kelly post (which by the way i don't like the personalisation of the matter by allowing naming a post so personal - regulator again surely?)..anyway our chairman (whom i respect by the way) jumped in after the div 3 cl...

Re: Declan Kelly
As expected we lost today to a weakened Down team..tale of two cities as such last 24 hours...while i assume unavoidable, the hurlers home coming at 12 noon probably affected attendance in Down today..lost by 6 in the end..

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
super win indeed...pressure at different stages of game and each time we pushed on again...felt abit for Barry Egan been subbed, he scored 1-02 from what ball came his way, Doyle played well too and got a score or two..that said management seen a change where game needed to be closed out i suppose.....

Re: Origins of Offaly colours
Not sure about "winning something" to earn the right to wear the Tricolour as opposed to been a draw out of a drum was what i heard/read as a child long before the days of internet to check it (which i havent). I know Clara is supposedly the first/oldest affiliated club in Ireland etc...se...

Re: Declan Kelly
whatever about Division 3, we are no where near winning the tailteann cup as of now, "we should be" is one thing, in reality s another...if there was a third cup with teams who finished below us in tbe league that is our level, we "might" get a good performance here and there but...

Re: Declan Kelly
Our chairman had a mighty article this weekend about Offaly hurling..a great piece to be fair...no mention of football, for a man that jumped into public media after the Clare collapse in the league..now to be fair he is flat out on weekend commentaries..yes he has a living to make..but if you jump ...

Re: Declan Kelly
i have said it before, what is it exactly Offaly footballers want to win or should I say think they should win???a Leinster final?...the All Ireland???...if they dont rate the tailteann cup or back door or whatever you want to call it, they do have a serious attitude problem, and surely they all are...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024
we got a win today, made hard work of it in the end...3-25 is serious concession which wont bother some (given there was nothing to play for) but its still alot in a game we didn't need to win...scoring 5-23 is good but the concession rate bothers me abit..Laois obviously went weak against Westmeath...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
I stopped commenting much here as the heckling and bickering is childish and petty at this stage, moderator is abit like the financial regulator during the financial crash, i.e. they are either "asleep at the wheel" or what was really the issue was a political appointment who was happy for...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
Poor comment above...I stopped commenting on here over last while, a few posters literally berating anyone who opposes the "all is well" narative launching personal attacks with no one monitoring tone of whats being posted..posters being personally attacked on a constant basis..the post ab...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
Dont like these 'challenge' questions, cant see how it effects any other posters what/when what games I attend, I know many go to games and they (privately to me) don't really read games that well, nothing wrong with that, we are all different, I made 2 league games this year, unfortunately(or not) ...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
Simple logic alright. Also flawed. Beating the teams below you in Division 3 is very much Division 3 form, not that of Division 4. Anyway, the league is over. Life goes on and so does the football. For me it’s simple. The only teams we beat were relegated to Division 4 so we’re showing Division 4 f...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
so Sligo 'hammered' Westmeath (by 6 points?) Yet apparently we could have beaten Westmeath yet lost by 6/7 or something...so like politics when the narrative suits...how anyone can say we would do way better against Div 4 teams is 2 way situation - yes we 'should' be able to account for Div 4 teams ...
