Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
Not sure what the perception out there is, and wouldn’t begrudge him a day in the sun, but part of me felt the chairman should have been in Cavan today. There was one group of players who needed support today and it wasn’t the ones who’d just won an all-Ireland. Surely there’s enough time for celebr...

Fair enough, wouldn’t know enough to argue otherwise.

Re: Declan Kelly
Would you say everywhere?
This is the first time it seems to have become such an issue? Lomans, Vincents, u20s, never really heard much about issues there? And the intercounty players he’d have had at lomans would be of a similar or better calibre than what he has in his current setup…

Re: Declan Kelly
Never nice to have to countenance getting rid of a volunteer from their role. I for one have felt that for too long the offaly footballers have had too much power, an unwillingness to bend the knee to managerial appointments that don’t float their boat. It’s not even the first time members of this s...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
4 changes to Offaly team named Declan Hogan for Cathal Donoghue Jack O’Brien for Rory Egan Ruairi Mcnamee for Cathal Flynn Nigel Dunne for Cian Farrell Presume that means Peter Cunningham to midfield. Some of the lads he didn’t think he needed might just save him his job.. 🤷♂️ Enlighten us, who ar...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
A recovery session took place not a training session . Meeting up in a pool for recovery is not gonna help us. I’d be as pissed off as anyone about that london result. But realistically, regardless of the result, they were probably only ever going to get to train once this week with there being a g...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
I’m hearing they aren’t training till Thursday so one proper training session since one of the worst results in our football history to try right the wrongs and try set up the team to beat limerick on the surface that looks like the MGT have thrown in the towel A Junior club team would do more in m...

Re: Offaly Minor Hurling 2024
Appreciate the optimisim
But would we not want to be showing signs of closing the gap to wexford at this age group. A ten point loss to a county we should be setting our targets on at senior level doesn’t really bode well does it, just my thoughts

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
Aye, but do you have to play to your potential to beat opposition who you are so far ahead of? Londons ceiling is hardly so high that even if Offaly are only playing at their base level that the result should be like that? London margin of victory was actually a larger number than what offaly manage...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
Comfortably, though the 30 point trimming to Armagh would take some topping. In that game vs Armagh, Offaly were just blown out of it. The 2008 qualifier against Down was similar to today because the players were putting management under the bus. Do ya reckon thats what it was? What are the obvious...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
I doubt that. Sure if he was planning on getting rid of the older lads who was he going to get to play instead of them?

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
The worrying thing is, with very little obvious exception, this is the best collection of footballers we can muster as a county. I can’t think of anyone that you could parachute in from a playing perspective and drastically change the course of direction. Its harsh, but its true, we’re just not deve...
