Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
Enlighten us, who are the lads he didn't think he needed? Is the inference fairly obvious that he’s referring to dunne hogan and mcnamee? And why exactly are them 3 players being referred to as ones he thought he didn't need??? You are a proper fan girl. Do you have your head buried in the sand wit...

Re: Proposed change to age grades at both county and club level
It beggars belief that Cappincur can claim not to have numbers at Go Games level, when Ballinamere-Durrow (to pick a club with a similar population profile) have a few teams in that age group. One is as much a suburb of Tullamore as the other. [/quote] POTH, you have mentioned Cappincur here and el...

Re: Club Football Championship 2022
Clonmore Harps also gave a walkover today. That is 3 first teams in the county giving walkovers in one round of championship. Very very concerning.

Re: Club Football Championship 2022
Doon giving a walkover now too to Ballinagar in Junior A. Two first teams giving walkovers in championship…unheard of.
What is the penalty for giving a walkover in championship?

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2022
Well done to the lads today. Never in doubt. Hopefully can play with a bit more abandon the next day and quicken things a little between defence and attack. Quick comment and question. Whoever has compiled the football and hurling appearances on this site should be commended (plainoftheherbs - I’m g...

Re: League & Championship hurling 2022
As an aside a group of 8 with one team qualifying, as is the case in the Division 1 league is no way to promote a competition. A good few years ago now, I was involved with a review group for Offaly fixtures, and I presented to a county board meeting some findings that involved a few ideas. Two quo...

Re: Sigerson/Fitzgibbon 2020
Semi FInals of Sigerson being played tonight. Free live streams of matches available online. 4 Offaly lads should feature in DCU v UL - Bill Carroll down to start with Jack Bryant and Shane Tierney on the bench. Chilli Donnelly could feature also for UL. Will be interesting to see how a certain Davi...

Re: Club Managers 22
Rynaghs - ??????????? Coolderry - Brian Culbert KK - great opportunity here for a coach with pedigree of young talent they have. Shinrone - Trevor fletcher Birr - Brendan Bugler staying on? Ballinamere - Seamus McKeogh Kinnity - Denis Kelly Belmont - Baker replaced by Arien Delaney Clodiagh Gaels - ...

Re: Sigerson/Fitzgibbon 2020
Serious Offaly representation last night in Sigerson competition. Great to see! DCU ran out comfortable winners against Maynooth with 3 Offaly starters all doing well - Jack Bryant, Bill Carroll and Shane Tierney (surely worth a call back into senior set up). Maynooth themselves had 3 Offaly starter...

Re: Sigerson/Fitzgibbon 2020
For the first time in thee guts of 10-15 years we seem to have massive representation across university teams this year judging from social media the last few weeks during league campaigns. Backed up by the super initiative the CB have recently introduced for un. bursaries for scholarships - a great...

Re: Management committee
Tullamore can like or lump it in my opinion. Am I correct in saying there is still levy on every club in Offaly for OCP? So all the other clubs around the county raise finances which effectively go into the arse pocket of Tullamore GAA. And then they want the clubs to have sympathy for them because...

Re: Club Managements
I can't understand why there aren't 2 clubs in Tullamore, there are 2 senior clubs in Athlone and 3 in Mullingar, Tullamore a similar sized town. With the population in Tullamore, they should have 3 minor teams, surely they are losing players .... Athlone and Mullingar have bigger populations than ...

Re: Maughan & O' Malley / Dunne & Maher
Tierney and Dempsey were minors in 2015 so they would be 24 this year. Dunican , Hayes , mcnamee all 25 this year, I’m nearly sure none are 23 Hayes when I think about it could be 24 This is not important in the overall scheme of things. It’s just great that we are starting to get our best players ...

Re: Club Managements
Tullamore and edenderry in truth should be far more dominant than they are, huge poulation advantage over other clubs and yes i know they have more sports to choose from but even allowing that, its crazy to think of the pooll of players say tullamore can choose from with only one gaa club in our ca...

Re: Club Managements
Any word on Ferbane, Edenderry, Shamrocks or Cappincur management teams? Nearly Christmas and all hot seats are vacant - unheard of in previosu years but understandable considering nobody knows what 2021 will look like. I imagine another shortened season with maybe no leagues.
