Re: U21 Football Management

Don't think Meath are strong this year Rarely do they have a bad side!! If Meath are losing they'll get physical, if Meath are winning, they'll get physical!!! Either way, Meath will be a big test for this Offaly side. Would be great to see us win an U21 Leinster or even make a final...just to show...

Re: offaly v wicklow challenge

i think we really need to concentrate on the full back position as we have not had one since Liam Connor!!
What about Larry Carroll?

Re: Offaly vs Roscommon NFL Div 3 12th February 2012

It wouldn't matter what gym work those lads got, it still wouldn't make county footballers out of them!!! We're decades behind some of the bigger counties for developing players...we have no underage structure and sadly thats why we are where we are!! I think Offaly people need to get out and suppor...

Re: Offaly Senior Inter County Hurling 2012

Just a quick question for people alot closer to the hurling scene in Offaly that I am, what do you think this Offaly team should achieve this year for us to have a successful year? When I look at it, alot of these lads have been hurling for Offaly for a while, they've had their days where they ran t...

Re: Offaly senior football team 2012

Just wondering if another player has ever played intercounty football in goals and at full forward? I reckon Alan Mulhall might be a serious option for us this year as a full forward, plus he's a handy free taker too!!

Re: 2012 Football Transfers

With the January transfer window about to open surely we can expect to see massive transfer activity. Don't know why lads are jumping ship in Shamrocks...didn't most of them retire last year...thus the reason they didn't have more than the bare 15 for some of their matches!!! Hardly makes them the m...

Re: new football manager

Never mind getting Micko...1st thing we need are a few footballers!!! In fairness to Micko the Wicklow stint was a win win for him...they never needed to win anything...just look competitive!!! I don't think Micko coming in would rejuvenate Offaly football...he won't change the players mindset which...

Re: Offaly Team to face Wexford in Leinster Football Championshi

Fight fight fight!!! Ah well with little chances of the much anticipated Wazzaman V Townman ever happening, I think we should get back to the real matter in hand, another poor performance by our county footballers!!! I thought after the Down fiasco a few years ago when they bet us out the gate that ...

Re: Tone of debate declining?

For me the quality of the posts reflect the current state of the county footballers and hurlers. I've never been a big fan of people criticizing individuals for the team losing, but to be honest how do you police people's opinion? If you took away peoples right to say what they wanted then you'd pro...

Re: Endless summer nights ahead in Offaly

To be honest any lad whose played 3 or 4 years club football in Offaly knows that he's got at least 6 weeks of a break in the summer while our county boys go do their stuff...many's a Sunday night after another early Championship exit by our footballers I'd be tuned into the Sunday game praying for ...

Re: OFFALY V CAVAN 05/02/2011

As supporters I think we should forget about getting promoted...this year is goping to another year of watching the same Offaly football failures donning the jersey again & taking us no where again this year!!! I don't think we'll get relegated either...but honestly I reckon we'll be in a relega...

Re: Interview with Paul O'Kelly

I never really understand how Paul O'Kelly is rated so highly...the year he was in charge, we were no better than any other year under any other manager!!! He played almost the entire league with the young players, lost to Antrim in O'Connor park in the league, didn't get us league promotion...2 wee...

Re: Offaly senior football in general

I think the problem is that football at county level has moved on alot in the last 5 years or so and Offaly have failed to move with it!!! While I accept that under Kilmurray we did well to make a Leinster final...that Offaly team was no great shakes and were always capable of playing terrible footb...

Re: Your best club hurler that never played for the county

Mark Yeates from Shamrocks...gifted hurler who never really got a look in because of his size and playing for a team like Shamrocks didn't help his cause either!!!
