Intermediate relegation

Post by Ahlethimoutwithit »

Kilclonfert survive for another year after a storming second half performance by all accounts. A desperate defeat for Clonbullogue who were narrowly defeated in a few games, (as were Kilclonfert).
Finished 2-07 to 11pts , (7pts to 1-00 at half time). Kilclonfert continue to punch above their weight, great achievement for a small club).

Please elaborate Hyper?

Yes they have, at times , a physical approach. Who hasnt, Shams? Ballyfore?, Clonbullogue? Durrow? Other clubs not so physical but engage in plenty of verbals.
I know a couple of lads over there, and they have lost a serious number of players to emmigration, injury and retirement. A little credit rather than cynicism would be the order of the day for a small club!

As a Clonbullogue man I must say I'm very heartbroken today. What looked to be a promising year turns out to be a disaster - in championship terms. Goes to show how close the intermediate championship is. We were beaten by 1 point by Durrow in the first round, who are now in the semi Final. Inches! No disrespect to Kilconfert, and I'd be one of the first to congratulate them, but I think if Clonbullogue didnt fall apart in the second half it would be Kilclonfert down junior A. The goal came from a mistake a clonbullogue player in the dying minutes, but look every team needs them breaks and Kilclonfert got them. Best of luck to them next year, they are a small club that as the above said, punching above their weight.

IMO their isnt much difference between Junior A and Intermediate. Junior champions from previous two years, KK & Cappincur, play in the Inter semi final in 2 weeks. But in saying that Junior A isnt easily won - just ask Daingean. Anyway for Clonbullogue its prob the kick up the behind they needed. Only time will tell
Twice we had the chance, but well get one more
