Juvenile Membership Fees

Post by the bare biffo »

Can anyone tell me what the juvenile membership fee is in their club at the moment.

I was shocked to discover a particular Dublin club has a juvenile membership fee of €100

Is this the norm these days ?

Juvenile membership in my club is 5 euro!
Would love to know why that particular club has such a high membership especially for juveniles!

€75 in Naas, an absolute disgrace, they have a levy on the membership because of their debt and who's fault is that?

75 euro is a disgrace and so is 100 euro. In Gracefield 5 euro covers everything for the year!

It would be about €150 in a Dublin 'super club' like Kilmacud Crokes.

There surely should be some rule against that. In fact a motion to congress would be no harm there.

Ferbane/Belmont is expensive by the above Offaly comparisons actually - €25 single and €50 for family - though obviously that would be football and hurling for most kids.

Do your clubs pay any subscription fees? Like €2 a game or training session? If you were to add that up for the year you could bring membership costs to nearly €200 a year?

Many clubs charge €2 for games and training though which would make membership over €200 in the year. So €100 and that's all is actually quite reasonable. Plus many clubs nowadays have monthly payment schemes so it would only be €10 a month if you were to look at it that way. The GAA charge nearly €55 for insurance of each child then you have to register each team at €100 each. In our club this year alone the bill for the county board was €38,000. So how exactly would you suggest paying such a bill without membership fees.
