This would be the weakest Rhode team in the 7 years even though they won the minor 3 years ago.
Be careful out their

St Michaels and tullamore are playin the county semi final in walsh island next tuesday. should be a good game. tullamore wil do well to manage ken casey, o'connell, darby and anton ,though.. hear darby is playin centre back though whick i think is mad.

Re: Under 21 Championship
My view on the Rhode seven in a row is that, among other things, it's a shocking indictment of the state of Offaly football.
Of course Rhode would have won a few titles anyway over this period but at this stage they are going to win a seventh. Think about it, all the Rhode senior, junior and St. Brigid intermediate players are training hard for an assault on Leinster.
I'd wager Tullamore or anyone else hasn't a hope.
For one reason or another i'm well aware how some of the under 21 teams in the county have prepared over the last few years. I know for a fact some teams went out with little more than a challenge game under their belts. Likewise I vividly recall at least two combinations teams refering to each other as 'you' or 'here' because they weren't sure of each others names!. I bet people can back that up. I also know of poorly attended sessions which year in year didn't pass two in number. And that is not my own club either
The Rhode parish are a combination team but they have played with each other all their lives.
The old adagé that success brings success could never be truer. Rhode demand and expect titles.
A 19 year old from Rhode has an option this time of year. Work hard at his game and don't socialise. If he does he can make a team with a fantastic chance of silverware, a fantastic session, a presentation and that savage sense of achievement or indeed winning.
A 19 year old from Tubber has the same option at this time of year. However he is depending on others not to go drinking, players to bother going training and worst of all coaches to manage and organise them properly.
This is all done despite the overwhelming feeling that their not gonna win anyway! so why bother
That example does not necessarily mean Tubber only and refers to other combination set ups.
Put simple other clubs have to cop on to themselves and start treating this competition better. Otherwise it will be Rhode for ten in a row.
All this is done against the backdrop that there are currently something like 12 under 21 teams in the whole county
Does anyone else think that is completly wrong

The world is a stage, but the play is badly cast.
