June the 7th is coming !!

June the 7th has been on the horizon for what seems like ages now but finally its nearly here. This Game is going to be massive. Sure on paper Wastemeath should win this one handy enough but we all know in local darbys form and statistics can often go out the window. By all accounts Offaly are flying in training and are chomping at the bit to get at their fiercest rivals. could Offalys new sense of purpose have anything to do with a better team spirit now that a certain P.J is gone ?? Have been checking out what the enemy are saying and they are confident that Glennon will destroy whoever marks him. I dont know about that but what I do know is this : for generations now Offaly have been dishing out beatings to Wastemeath and that has definately scarred them. The mere sight of an Offaly jersey brings back bad memories and if we can hit the ground running all those uncertainties will start to niggle at them. I know I should be nervous given the current standing of both counties but I just cant see us losing to them on our own soil. We need a massive game from the entire team and what they need is unquenchable support from us, so Im calling On all self respecting Offaly men to turn up and shout their heads off. Think how sweet it would be to see the auld enemy scuttling back across the border. Come on the FAITHFUL !!!

Cant wait for Saturday!! The tickets are booked and the bus is ordered. Think it will be one hell of a match. On paper, Wastemeath should win but this is a local derby and form goes out the window. Having home advantage will be a huge help. Hear the lads are flyin in training and the wins over derry and mayo will have helped morale in the camp.
