I notice the Offaly Laois hurling game is on live, not often this happens, apart from that game of water polo 2 years ago!!

RTE have announced details of the football and hurling championship matches they will broadcast live this summer.

Beginning next Sunday, May 11, with the clash of Longford and Westmeath in the Leinster football championship, up to 40 games will be shown live by the state broadcaster. The schedule will culminate in live coverage of all the football and hurling championship quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals, in addition to the minor football and hurling semi-finals and finals.

’The Sunday Game Live’ will feature live coverage of matches from each of the four provinces, including the Munster hurling final and the Leinster football final. TV3 had previously announced their 10-match live schedule.

Laois are in a mess for this one, believe me. I know we won the league meeting earlier in the year but young Keenan has left the panel and Matt Whelan, our best young defender, is out for the year with a cruciate injury.

You've got one long term injury and one defection and you think you're in crisis!. Cue violins.
At the moment the way things are going Offaly mightn't have a team for O'Moore Park.

Haven't a clue how Offaly are shaping up to be honest.

But Keenan and Whelan are just the tip of the iceberg - Healy and O'Loughlin are concentrating on football, Mick McEvoy is away on a year's travels, the 2 Galmoy lads Russell and Dunne opted out too. Generally Laois are in bad shape for this, the word emanating from the camp is not good as regards training and overall morale.

If we win this one, I'll "ate me hat".
