lads i never heard such bulls..te in my life, games should be played in birr not tullamore!! a good team should be able to play to their best at any pitch, once the offaly jersey goes on the pride should be bursting out of these guys to go out and do their very best to win,the last thing on their mind should be "oh no we are in tullamore and not birr" we are in trouble here.leinster finals and all irelands are not won or lost in birr or tullamore.westmeath were better team simple,we need to develop a better under age system and that will only happen when the county board get the finger out.

but when the footballers lose like last saturday the minor footballers kick out of tullamore bye kildare or the under 21's bet well bye westmeath
its brush under the carpet.
as for why offaly hurling games should be put back to st, brendans park if your from the football strong hold ye won't understand simple as.
We certainly won't understand if somebody doesn't explain it.
By the by, nobody made one negative comment about the hurlers themselves here, never mind "running them into the ground". They are schoolkids, they did their best, they met a better team, that's all. I just know that as an Offalyman, I think a big part of our problems is too many sacred cows - the "Offaly way" of hurling, the "Offaly legends" who are passing on these age old methods to the next generation, and the absence of any form of critical and metric analysis of why things are falling asunder and what positive and effective steps can be taken to redress the balance.
