Having followed the whole Cork issue closely and from reading McCarthys statement it leads me to believe that McCarthy is the greatest GAA man in modern times. When you compare the dignity and bravery of this man with the spineless, cowardly opertunism of O'hAilpin, Gardiner, Cusack and their flock of '08 sheep they are complete opposite ends of the scale.
I wish O'hAilpin, Gardiner and Cusack the very worst for the rest of their careers. Their treatment of McCarthy is the lowest act that I can remember in many years of following/ being involved in local and county GAA. Decent people can see them for exactly what they are.

Read pat spillane (sunday world) AND conlon (sunday independant ) they called it spot on .All mc carthy was , was a stoge for murphy to get back at those players for the last strike .As donal o grady pointed out he should have keep quiet and left it between the county board and the players but he couldnt do so and it was he who started the personal stuff and in the end got burnt .At the end of the day when a manager in any sport losess the dressing room ,theres no point in him hanging around .He had a terrible record with cork after 2 years .Jesus successfully managers down there didnt stay much longer than that .WHY DID HE THINK HE WAS SO SPECIAL TO THINK HE HAD A RIGHT TO STAY ON .The cork county board and the gaa in general (top brass washed their hands as usual )could have put a stop to this in a proper manner in the first place and left the players with no grounds for a strike but like typical tirrants at that level they wouldnt do that .
I dont agree with strikes but the likes of murphy need to be put in their place too .I read where sean og hailpin said where , he would work with murphy .That sickens me because then what the hell was the point then of going as far as they did .Double stanards to me .
As for the jersey and dignity MC CARTHY should keep quiet he didnt show much either ,allowing himself to be used as apawn in apower struggle .
