Re: Minor Football 2026
Westmeath will be decent and a bit more belief we could have gotten more out of the Dublin game.
Longford will be the game and like last year see where can go from there.

Westmeath haven't beaten Offaly in minor football since 1963. Good to keep the run going.
Re: Minor Football 2026
Well done tonight to the lads, I wasn't at the game but ain't in funny these boys were expected to be first knocked out now we are in a quarter final. Adrain and Co doing a great job

Re: Minor Football 2026
Did anyone get to see this? Didn't get to attend or watch on Clubber. Score was 11-8 to Meath after 47 minutes. Unfortunately, were outscored badly, 5-5 to 0-1 to finish in the last 15 minutes. Ended up losing by 22 points.
Re: Minor Football 2026
Offaly gaa platfoms talking it up abit, we wouldnt shoot if we were there yet, over and back, going back out field even..the last 2 Meath goals were fortious but we were soundly beaten..

All Ireland B prelim quarter final: Offaly 4-22 Armagh 3-19 AET. Good to see a strong performance in the secondary competition.
Re: Minor Football 2026
Decent enough progress this year , great platform to build on for next.
Re: Minor Football 2026
Minor football manager and management team gone back over the 16 development squad, this shows they are staying on, which is good, good group big 2027, I'd say
Hurling will possible do something similar, will this give our minors a jump start for next year? Hopefully.

Re: Minor Football 2026
It's a good idea but fairly harsh on the u16 mgt who were removed in full. Unlikely they'll ever get involved again after been removed mid season. Unless of course this was all pre planned from the start of the season.
Re: Minor Football 2026
Who was the U16 management and did something happen for them to be removed? Sounds a bit off unless previously agreed as you say.....

I don't know if it was pre planned or not ,
James Stewart and Keith Begley , potentially a few more with them
They'd be decent. I would have assumed

Re: Minor Football 2026
I would say its a good move. In fairness, they have progressed the lads this far and now harm to use the next few months together to bring on to the level required for minor.
Ginger and Keith will no doubt have other gigs coming their way and would be good to have guys that are happy to rotate up and down with development squads and learning as they go.

Re: Minor Football 2026
I doubt it very much the lads who were over are happy. Mid season removal with a group is pretty unheard of. Easily be kept on with new mgt members joining. But to be fully removed...... again if this was prearranged then that's a different storey
Re: Minor Football 2026
I foolishly went digging and it was not preplanned, a committee of two or three decided it last week based on a request for players to come in or something to that tune, either way a bit unusual. The minor team of 2027 will be more than decent which is positive and Adrian farrell is a good manager which bodes well
