No, it was just under 5,000 paid in. It's harder to tell with U-16s so there was an element of guesswork about the 8,000 number, I understand.
Do you mean there was only 8000 in total at the KK game last week - 5000 adults and 3000 u16’s?????

I’d say in the region of 12-14000 all in last week. Both stand and terrace were practically full. Stand holds 7000 and terrace 8000.
Yeah, that's what I was told. Now there might have been more U-16s, as I said that was an estimate, but that's the number we were given in the press box anyway.
That may have been what you were told but applying a bit of common sense and you’d arrive at a much higher figure.

The capacity of OCP is 18,000 and it was at least 75% full if not 80% so 18,000 x 75% = 13,500.

Attendances announced in OCP are always on the ridiculously low side.

Stand was around 60% full looking over from the terrace, certainly last 2 sections to the left were fairly empty and there were a lot of empty seats (stand holds 7k), terrace seemed well filled so should be the same around 10k to fill it so 4000 on one side and 5000 on the other would give in around 9k? Anyway twas a big crowd and would have turned a lot of turf in the day.

There’s no way in hell that there was room for 9k more people so there had to have been more than 9k there.

The stand certainly wasn't full more like 50% hence why the figure of 8000 going around

Dublin won't bring anymore the 1000 max. Maybe 7k from offaly. And there probably be two turnstiles open......

There’ll be more than 7k from Offaly.

We sold out Carlow last year on our own with a capacity of 11k, Portlaoise is a lot closer.

I was on the terrace in the section to the right of centre. There was plenty of room there. I'd say 8k was about right. I was expecting the figure to be slightly less.

Not a flag to be seen out there, well just bar the ones that remained up from last year and are now blown to shreds.

Are folks waiting for the All Ireland?

Just to pick up on this. 100% correct.
Offaly gave away some cheap scores last week by players not doing the basics and being tuned in.

Worse thing is, there is no skill required in being tuned in. It's attention, attitude, work rate, desire etc.
For every score you give away cheaply like this, you have to go up the other and work hard to undo it.

In round one, Dublin got a point against Offaly off a trick sideline cut. A player over the ball shaped like he was moving away from it to let another player jogging over to take it instead. Then he turned back, nudged the ball to make it live and the incoming player could rise it and stick it over the bar. This was during Dublin's comeback and it lifted their players and the crowd.

It's guaranteed that Dublin will try one like this again. Hopefully Offaly have done their homework and every player is on message.

Add in v dublin we passed the ball ridiculously long across our back line when there was no need causing one goal , and then running into traffic instead of releasing the ball in the back line right in front of goal caused the second,

If it wasn't for those 2 simple goals dublin would have never gotten back into the game we should have been home and hosed

As for the sidelines that trick will only work the once

Both sides will be much sharper tomorrow hoping offaly run the legs of the dublin backs and more off the same outstanding desire to win every ball no matter where it is

Dublin are going to look to create lots of space for Purcell at full forward - I would pick Ruairi Kelly to follow him as he has good pace and reads the game well.

O Dualaing will wander around the place so he is going to pick up pockets of space and have an influence on the game, it's just about curtailing it as much as possible.

It will be interesting to see how we set up Vs their one man full forward line. From what I've seen, our forwards should have plenty for the Dublin defence but the Dublin attack has plenty of speed with runners from deep so a big shift is needed from our half back line and midfield

Would never put up a flag for a Leinster final and we have a big job to do tomorrow evening before we even think about an All Ireland final.

Dublin tomorrow will be unrecognisable from the first round.
