Wouldn't have any interest in this myself but it strikes me as basic sense. A lot of people don't like the idea of tipping the hat to the soccer but in fairness there's no point cutting off your own nose to spite your face while it's also a good move for local pubs and hotels that will possibly see a good few Wexford heads hang around to see the soccerball after.

Why not postpone the Champions League Final altogether to avoid a clash with Offaly vs Wexford?

I think this is a great decision. The home and away agreements between counties was introduced first and foremost as a financial instrument so to clash this game with the Champions League would have kept hundreds away, and would also have impacted the effect on Tullamore too as surely a number of Wexford fans will now travel and make a weekend out of it.
I'm sure some people will be opposed to this, and i, like many would have attended either way, but i believe this is an important step forward for the Leinster Council to have made.
