REFEREE,S

Post by clubman »

just want to ask ,what ye think of refs . have been at a lot of club games in the league so far and the standard of refs is very poor.i know its a hard job and they are an easy target but there has to be some sort of standard that should apply to all.only beenat football games but would think hurling is the same

the standard is poor.the county board are letting football refs do hurling matches which is totally not acceptable.i agree there has to be a level or grade for refs because when it comes to big games teams that are training all year are been let down by poor ref decisions and thus end up out of the championship.there should be a league or table for refs and the better they do the bigger the games they get to ref.

In a world of unlimited referees this would all be fine, but the simple fact of the matter is that while the numbers aren't nearly as bad as they once were, there is a real shortage of referees out there and the idea that certain referees wouldn't be given games simply doesn't hold water. There are several referees out there that will have teams cringing if they see them coming out, but when you have clubs in the county providing no referees at all, then this situation will always continue.
