Treatyview-New Limerick Gaa Forum

Well lads I have just created a new Limerick gaa forum http://www.treatyview.proboards.com.Anyway I was hoping some of ye might join.Also I was looking for advice from the Admin about how to get a new forum up and running.Thanks

Best of luck with the treatyview website. I took a look and you need to register and login to view the discussions. I'm not sure if any other county website administrators have views on this, but I think it will preclude a lot of people with a passing interest from visiting the site.

Agree - you should only have to register if you want to contribute imho

I can understand how you might want to have people register, but registration followed by a wait to actually log on is a big turn off. What happens with these sites is that lads will hear about a certain story or rumour and log on for that alone, and that will end up keeping them there. If they can't find what they're looking for at the time, they've lost interest by the time their login gets approved.

It also becomes a real barrier to people from outside Limerick looking for a casual insight into matters down there.
