Re: Name the best scores ??
I'd have to agree with Seamus Darbys goal but a close second would have to be Roy Malones second(??) goal against Meath in 1997 Leinster Final.
The best hurling score for me is Johnny Pilkingtons goal against Wexford in 1996 Leinster Final.

Matt connors two goal's again kerry in 1980.
as for the hurling john troys goal again Antrim in 1999 i think where he flick it into his hand on the end line and turned
and stuck into the roof of the net was pure class.

Ah come on now, corner back !!!!!
I was in the Hogan Stand the day Paddy Kirwan scored a famous long range free but it was nowhere near corner back, somewhere around Offalys 70 yard line I think.
All of Matt Connors 2-09 against Kerry in 1980, in Hurling the most memorable score for me was a point scored by Liam Currams. Standing with his back to the Hogan somewhere around midfield the ball came to him low on his right hand side, he flicked it up with the hurl and doubled on it straight over the bar, brilliant skill.

It wasnt in Croke Park, but the best hurling score from an offaly player ive seen was David Franks point against Waterford in the qualifiers in Thurles 3-4 years ago. Soloed the whole way from corner back to midfield and slapped it over the bar, tremendous point at a time when one was badly needed.
If It was in Croke Park id probably give it to Johnny Dooleys goal in the 94 all ireland final as it sparked the famous comeback

Most important, Seamus Darby's Goal, Johnny Dooley, 94, and 98 v Wexford.
Best quality hurling score, Billy Dooley v Wexford 94 Leinster final from John Troy's magic flick
Football, hard to call but I tink McManus goal v Laois in Portlaoise in drawn game, 2003?? is my most memorable.

Johnny Pilkington goal against Wexford in 1997 Leinster final, solo run from half way and buried it from 21 yards out, all while the very quick Paul Codd (I THINK) was chasing him. Niall Mac's point against Dublin in 2007 Leinster Championship, straight after the restart, not 20 seconds gone, pure speed and skill. Ran from left corner across the goal to right wing 25 yards out and without breaking stride turned and sweep over a prefect score, his marker never layed a hand on him. Proof of what this man can do to a defence with the right supply of ball. Think my years are right, can anyone confrim?
