That makes more sense. There's not a chance that Roscommon would be playing tomorrow night in a challenge match. I know they are a bit nuts over there, but that's crazy talk. :D I'd imagine what was heard was 'Offaly are playing in Roscommon on Thursday night'.

That sounds promising cluster. Were you there? Anybody there? If so, any chance of a brief report? Lone Shark, were you on duty?

Wasn't I'm afraid.

I did hear 2-8 to 0-10 as the result, fairly full team, Deehan scoring 1-3. Nothing beyond that though.

Heard myself that it was 2-6 to 3 pts at half time. Macmanus was playing well. Niall mac was doing well too.

Final score i heard was 2-8 to 11 pts.

Good morale boosting win for us at a vital time in the season.

Anyone know how the team lined out?

There is a game organised up north against Derry on sunday - anyone travelling?

Team V Mayo

1. P Kelly-- V assured in goals
2. G Rafferty-- Solid as usual, Great committment to the jersey
3. S Sullivan-- Good game, sharpness coming back
4. B Darby-- Didnt get a chance to get involved, went off early due to injury.. (J Keane)
5. N Grennan-- Impressive game, Threat going forward
6. S Brady-- Probably not the answer to this position
7. P McConway-- Looked a little off the pace due to injury, taken off at half time (R Connor)
8. N Smith-- Put in a lot of work, although started to fade towards the end
9. A MacNamee-- Caught 2 kickouts, grand total for the year......2!! Needs to help Smith out more, two players in mid-field for a reason..
10. K Slattery-- Didnt play the full game but impressiva game again
11. G Comerford-- Did well in patches but still looks a little raw.
12. C McManus-- Not his best game in the jersey
13. T Deehan-- Always looked dangerous
14. J Reynolds-- Probably need PJ or Neville here, just lacking something
15. N MacNamee-- Did fine but didnt perform to as high a standard as he has set..

Mayo had a full strength team except for that runt Mortimer!! Although they lacked shape and a genuine freetaker without him. (Freetaker must have misssed 1-8 between frees and open play)
Encouraging performance by offaly but more direct ball needed to break down a very solid Wastemeath team and to create that space we need..
