Re: Minor Football 2026
Just to be clear, I deliberately didn't get into the nuts and bolts of this particular dispute, because it centres on a handful of teenagers, both the cohort that the outgoing management wanted to bring in, and the cohort that would have had to make way to accommodate them. And I don't ...

Re: Minor Football 2026
If true, it’s a sheer lack of respect for volunteers trying to develop future Offaly footballers. I’ve heard a few stories regarding this so called committee or whatever they are that would make you worry.
FWIW, the U16's development squad pllayed Meath yesterday. And I stand to be corrected ...

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
Wexford really put it up to Down in the League final and obvoiously grounded out that win with last minute goal v Westmeath - 2/1 with Boyles

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
I wouldn't say with any confidence that we'll be favourites, I'd expect the betting to be pretty close to 50/50, but if we want to win the competition, then in the interests of knocking over a strong contender on home soil, this was a good draw.
15/8 wexford would appear good value LS - taking ...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2025
Any evidence of Cathal Donaghue performing well in the Galway championship this season?
I think the same names get bandied around all the time and hopefully there are a few lads that have put there hands up outside of senior a that are worthy of a chance.
The comment about the better 15 not in ...

Re: Club football 2025
Well of that Top 16, Cathal Flynn and Aaron Kellaghan are still there. Surely a place there for a few more.
Stated above by poster that Flynn will not be involved for some reason. I have not heard myself but did hear both Kellaghan and Ruairi McNamee will not be involved - again no specific ...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2025
According to Kevin Corrigan, Ruairi McNamee has called it a day with Offaly. A great servant and has been brilliant throughout. He’ll be missed.
AFAIK, Ruairi hasn't called it a day from the Offaly panel -definitely hasn't retired. I think Kevin (and other reporters) possibly misreported this in ...

Re: Club football 2025
i checked it earlier today, Hyper. Ciarán was midfield and on the frees with the 1997 U21s.
And that was indeed the one in Parnell Park where all Hell broke loose. Looking at the newspaper report, the referee - who was never heard of again - kept the match going until Dublin took the lead! A ...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2025
I think anybody with a sense of what’s going on with football in Offaly knows why Ru is walking away. A hugely committed player who loved representing his county had loads to offer such a pity he won’t be playing next year. Hopefully when things change we will see him back in an Offaly jersey ...
