Re: Offaly football champions
You'll have to do some searching of a map of Offaly to find the 1901 football champions, Quarrymount. That's because it's a tiny little townland tucked inside the Laois border just south of Killeigh village. It now forms part of the catchment area of the Kilcavan club, who play intermediate football...

Re: No more U12 Championship
More oul populist shite there from Sweeney. He can get it right the odd time but most of that article is crap. Sweeney, of course, tries to come across as some sort of GAA lover when a glance at his book on Sligo Rovers and a bile filled chapter relating to the GAA would show where his real loyaltie...

Re: Offaly vs Tipperary SHC Qualifier Phase 3 17/07/2010
Think Portlaoise will suit us as we have the benefit of a Championship match there already this year, just two weeks ago. Not sure the last time Tipp played a Championship match there but it wasn't of most recent times and I think this could be an advantage for our lads. 2003 I'd say. Hammered Laois...

Re: Offaly vs Laois Leinster Minor Football Semi-Final JUNE 30
Offaly are 4/7 favourites for this one. Don't know much about either team myself but the general view here in Laois is that it's not one of our better minor squads in recent years.
I hear young Cunningham is top class.

I'd be gone and if I was his clubmate Jap Finlay I'd be gone too. Shocking lack of loyalty by the manager despite the result vindicating him.

Ah, you know yourself. Another semi final or final defeat won't be a surprise at this stage.Phoenix Arms wrote:How are Courtwood fixed for the Intermediate championship this year, Hesh's? Any sign of those under 12s making the step up in to senior level yet?

Re: Pat Delaney's article in last Sunday's Programme
Ah Jaysus lads, lighten up will ye? That was so obviously meant to be a light hearted colour piece. It's just when Pat D gets the laptop cranked up, it' s real stream of consciousness stuff and he sometimes gets a bit carried away. Sure, didn't he say loads of nice things about ye too? I agree, he s...

When it comes to gerrymandering, putting John Taylor at 5 is a pure joke. He was always a left half back. Doubt if he ever even pulled on a number 5 jersey.

How good was Tom Prendergast lads? You say no.12 is a very weak position on this team but I know lads across the border who would say Tom Prendergast was the best player they have ever seen. These lads are not hype merchants either but I've never seen him play so cant judge. He was unreal. Best I'v...

Re: Brian Whelahan to run for Fine Gael
They tried the same thing with Graham Gerathy a few years ago...which was a serious misjudgement by them because Gerathy is hated throughout meath because he's a scum bag. Of course it didn't help when he stood up to address the press and announced that he was delighted to be chosen as a candidate ...

I see a very good win for Edenderry in the "A" championship yesterday.
Unfortunately for ye, their top scorer wasa Kildare man Paul Cribbin. Still good to see that result.
