Re: McTague - Offaly should amalgamate with Laois
Sweet mother of god. With all due respect to Tony McTague who was a great footballer that is the most idiotic thing I have ever heard. If it happens I doubt anybody would go to see that that team play. You start amalgamating counties and you take away everythingh that is good about intercounty GAA. On...

All I can say about Matt Connor is that I never saw a better footballer. Maybe Maurice Fitzgerald was close but that's it.

Lads, anyone know when football championships are next fixed for in Offaly as I'm trying to get a challenge game or two for an intermediate team from Laois?

Re: R.I.P Kieran McEvoy
and in fact I also remember Martin Dempsey from Laois as well, who died earlier this year. All of my vintage, and all played in that battle of Tullamore against Laois in the U21 Leinster Championship in 1994. Very sad to see them all taken so young. That was Martin Slevin, azoffaly. Sympathies to K...

In that team picture, can anyone identify Sean Ryan if he's in it please? Sean's my local man for tyres and punctures and a great character. he is the second in from the right back row. Thanks. Sean's grandson Adam has played minor for Laois and I'd imagine will be part of the under 21 set up this ...

Re: offaly v laois football challenge
Apart from both teams missing u 21 players to me it looked like Laois were only missing PClancy. I don't think Healy, Begley, Cahillane or Davy Conway played either from the Laois team that won in Donegal. Good win for Offaly nonetheless. I Take it you didn't enjoy going into work today Hesh a offa...

No, they do a good enough job on intermediate but junior A, B and C are virtually ignored except for the finals.Lone Shark wrote: You'll have to excuse me in that I'm not au fait with the Leinster Express on a weekly basis - do they cover Junior football and hurling, group stages and all, or just knockouts?
