Re: Offaly Hurling 2026
Thurles would be a great place for it too. That Offaly team is made for Thurles.
Depends who's in it. Don't be surprised if it's Galway facing Clare in the other quarter final.
Anyway, most important thing is that Offaly are there.
Totally personal opinion, but I actually don’t like Thurles ...

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026
Amazing!
Please give Johnny Kelly and his entire team a new term.
He has assembled an exceptional coaching team and every year under his tenure has seen improvement.
2023: Joe McDonagh Cup finalists/runners up.
2024: Joe McDonagh Cup champions.
2025: Maintained Liam McCarthy status.
2026 ...

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
Unbelievable win for Offaly.
I’m delighted for the players and management, not least because of the unrelenting negativity that has surrounded the team this year as typified by this forum.
I’ll never understand the attitude among counties that are in the Tailteann Cup towards the Tailteann cup ...

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026
I’ll start with the negatives and get them out of the way - over the 70 mins I don’t think we were the better team. Handling was poor which is fair enough in them conditions but some of the decision making was awful, ballooning it down to a spare man. The red card probably got us out of jail.
In ...

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026
Nobody, outside of Charlie, his family and his medical team, know any of the exact details.
So any speculation beyond the official Offaly GAA statement is just that, idle speculation, and should be avoided.
The only thing to be said is to sincerely wish Charlie all the best. Sport is a small ...

Re: U20 hurling 2026
Just to be clear, I’m not advocating for dual players at county level. The point I’m making is essentially in response to whenever we have a poor result, the inevitable response is what’s going wrong with Offaly and everyone from county board to team management get the blame.
But the reality is ...

Re: U20 hurling 2026
Every underage manager's job is to take the players at his disposal and to lead a coaching group that will improve those players, and make them the best that they can be, individually and collectively. The only way to assess that is to measure how they stand relative to where the same group of ...

Re: U20 hurling 2026
This is deeply concerning.
Beaten in the minor last year by Laois (hammered). Beaten in the minor this year by Westmeath. And now this slaughtering by KK - worse than any beating we got in what we thought were the dark days of underage 10 years ago.
All is not good underage. If the county board ...

Re: U20 hurling
Well done to all involved. Plenty of things to work on....but getting a win like that is great for morale to kick the year off. Great building block. Hopefully they can progress with this.
4 point win over meath
Are Offaly particularly weak or is this a good meath team?
I think a bit of ...

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026
If an ACL injury for Donal is confirmed, then this really is a grievous blow. He’s one of our best players.
My oh my, both panels have really been cursed with injuries this year. It’s desperately unfortunate.
I’m sure if we tracked the inter county training and match load of these players ...
