Re: Offaly Hurling 2026

What was Big Will’s rationale for predicting Croke Park as the venue?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Fry-qMhfvY

Skip to 52mins......again its pure speculation....and it's only for one. But he outlines his reasoning.....which I'm more than happy to run with. And hopefully the County Board get ...

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026

Just listened back to the Hurling Pod, and Will O’C seems to speculate that the All-Ireland quarter-finals could potentially be pencilled in for Croke Park. That would be superb. A huge occasion, hopefully with ample ticket supply and no mad scramble. If it’s Offaly, Clare, Cork and, I’d imagine ...

I think we are looking at a double header in Croker or else separate days in Thurles.

Esto Fidelis.
Bring it to Croker....Double header on the Sunday of that weekend. 4 week build up....can really rally the support. Will be a great occasion.

I did want to react a little to this one…but just left it. But as I noted myself before….dreamland stuff for me.

Esto Fidelis has never felt so appropriate.

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026

Screeney with a hamstring strain. Usure how serious it is or not. Hopefully he's back for Wexford.

Very happy to see Ravenhill, King and especially Mahon back. Slowly but surely we are coming along in terms of depth in my eyes. When I look across the subs and the extended panel above, I see plenty ...

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026

Having plenty in the tank for the Wexford game will be key as if Wexford get beaten by Dublin then Wexford will be coming with nothing to play for really as they will be safe from relegation and wont be able to make 3rd. For us 3rd is unlikely as the points difference from Sunday will be critical ...

Re: U20 hurling 2026

I think we all know our boys are better than that. I think it was just one of those days where nothing went right for our lads, and everything went right for Dublin. I was expecting something similar to how Laois got on....with us.

All is not lost, from what I can see, we will still finish 2nd in ...

Re: U20 hurling

Big match tonight for U20s. Hopefully they go well.

Would be great to keep a few numbers filtering through our minors and u20s to senior over next few years.

Laois gave Dublin a good game, with Dublin only properly putting the tie to bed in the last 10mins.

Re: U20 hurling

I think it was likely that Meath improved from their game against Dublin. They would have no doubt learned a lot and were able to shore up some things ahead of playing Offaly. Making it more difficult for our lads.

Laois and Offaly are closely matched as we saw in our 1st game, and it will be ...

Re: U20 hurling

Well done to all involved. 2 games and 2 wins for our lads. Bigger challenges ahead no doubt, but slowly building momentum.

On the opposition, Meath GAA has been putting a lot of work into hurling over the last few years. The population resources they get in from the spillover from Dublin is quite ...

Re: U20 hurling

Well done to all involved. Plenty of things to work on....but getting a win like that is great for morale to kick the year off. Great building block. Hopefully they can progress with this.

Re: Offaly Minor Hurling 2024

It's nice to reminded that many of the Eastern Offaly clubs have had representatives, and often pivotal contributions, in past Offaly underage hurling teams. It's great to see the spread of representation.....it's something that needs to be encouraged and full credit given to these young men and ...

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026

Cork are ruthless. It was the same when we played them a few years back. I seem to remember Connolly getting three goals.

Overall .......I think we all knew that it was going to be a rough ride at this level. Although its a long list of losses. There were some positives. I know the games are played ...

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026

Not going to lie......I have that Kildare game on my mind already. They seem to be well able to compete in 1B, making short work of Antrim and Carlow. Their worst performance was probably beating Down in workmanlike fashion.....and then gave Clare lots of it too. I expect them to give Wexford a good ...

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026

interesting discussion there on rte gaa podcast. roroy o neill and shane mcgrath. 2 well informed commentators. usually. they seemed to pay lip service to offaly. and were not seemingly aware of all we were missing.

To be honest that doesn't bother me. The less people are aware of Offaly ...
