Re: Offaly Hurling 2026
I presume we are looking at a Q-Final double header in Thurles?
Offaly vs Cork/Limerick
Clare vs Galway/Dublin.
These Q-Finals are notoriously poorly attended due in no large part to the fact they are usually played on a Saturday. In fact I think 2 years ago the first one threw in at some ...

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026
One player on the bench roasted Kiely last year in county semi final. That player cant get a minute currently were going that well.
So not sure where that would leave kiely on the pecking order.
Correct & right.
After that semi final Cillian Kiely was moved to wing back for the county final ...

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026
Obviously not a fan I see, Killian was our mainstay in lower etchelons and carried us many a day, Cathal was on panel and did play and score for Offaly too.. they aren't a phobia or something that should be forgotten about, Kiely and Conneely carried us out of the wilderness we were in..
I ...

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026
With a full deck to choose from you would have last night’s 16 plus Donal Shirley, Brecon Kavanagh and Charlie Mitchell. That’s a serious first 19.

Yes only one sub used.
Seems the management don’t have huge faith in the bench.

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026
remember we lose to wexford and it a joe mcdonagh trap door game against kildare in newbridge. it could all go wrong. equally we might be in the leinster final. biggest game in 20 years.
The chances of us qualifying for a Leinster Final are remote.
Among many things we need to happen include ...

Best wishes to Charlie with his recovery. A hammer blow for him, his family and Offaly.
I would suggest a minute's applause for him during the 13th minute next Saturday in OCP.

Re: U20 hurling 2026
Just a few points on this one and coming from a place of being heavily involved in both hurling and football from go games over the past few years up to currently u14. Also have a peripheral involvement with the Faithful Academy set up.
I’m also equally passionate about hurling and football with ...

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026
Anyone got an official attendance figure for yesterday?
Apparently just shy of 6,000.
For context the same fixture in Parnell Park in 2025 attracted 5,300.
That is a woeful effort to be fair.
I wouldn’t expect a large Offaly crowd to make the trek to Salthill either considering it’s ...

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026
Bookies say Galway by 12.
I tend to agree unfortunately.
If we keep it to single digits it’s been a reasonable day at the office.

Re: U20 hurling
Judging by this year’s underage performances, coupled with last year’s minors, I think it fair to say that our current senior squad aren’t going to get a huge injection of talent in the short to medium term.
It seems after some glorious years our underage results will return to the mean. Which is ...

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026
Fill out O'Connor Park for our home games? Absolutely not going to happen.
O'Connor Park holds 18,000 by current H&S regulations.
The largest crowd for an Offaly senior hurling game in there in the last 20 years (at least, as I'm only going since redevelopment) was last year vs Galway when 10 ...
